Since the...event with the cylons and her clinic stay, Laura hasn't been able to find a solid reason why she should leave the hotel and deal with much of anything. If that makes her a homebody or a coward, she's lived with it. Spending the extra time with Laila and Joslire has been good, like a healing balm over an open wound. And truth be told, she hasn't wanted to face anyone or to talk about what happened. And she doesn't want to speak with Leoben. Not yet. Which gives her yet another mark in the 'coward' column, most likely. Rationally she knows, he did nothing. He helped. But she's not ready to have that conversation. Even after speaking with Ellen, knowing that being allies is better than being enemies...
Gods, she's still not ready for this, even as she makes her way to the bakery in the early morning. But her conversation with Peeta, knowing that he and Katniss were getting married; that inspired hope. No matter what sort of future there is, and no matter what kind of past they've had, they're still moving forward. Life can't stand still, and so with that in mind, and her promise to Peeta, she's working. She's keeping her head down mostly, staying back in the kitchen. But she's there. And it does feel good again, she has to admit.
