of tutors and things [[closed to Mattie and Robert separately, maybe Elizabeth?]]

Laura has more than one thing on her mind as she sets up a table for her and the young girl she's supposed to be meeting with. Helo and Athena continue to be at the forefront of her thoughts, but there's Robert and Hannah as well. She's done everything she thinks she can with Joslire to prepare for an extended stay - one that she thinks is necessary. She knows he's never taken care of an infant before; it was was something that he'd learn together with Ruby. So now, as he's family (or as close to is as he possibly can be), Laura's preparing to do what needs to be done.

Maybe because of war, or maybe because she'd always tried to be a little prepared, she has enough frozen casseroles and soups that can be easily thawed for quick dinners. And she still has a little of Laila's bottles and things, though most of that was given to Margaret and Erica. She buys what she thinks they'll need, not bothering to make Robert go back to his room until he's ready. Diapers, formula, spit rags, and other baby things. She goes to the hotel, finding Elizabeth's room and knocking, not sure if she's there, or if Robert will answer.

Then, she goes back to the bakery in the afternoon, sitting at a booth and waiting for Mattie. She works on a new spring menu as she waits. Lemon squares and a tiramisu are high on her list of limited time offers. Her mind wanders though, wondering what she can do to help a girl who is definitely eager to learn things not necessarily found in a classroom. She can attest to needing survival skills - a person can know all of the math and literature in the worlds, but some things only life can teach. She wonders if the girl would want to learn things that some of her friends could offer. Shooting lessons from Erica, tracking and first aid from Juliet, or forging from Aibileen. She'll have to wait and see, she supposes.

(whoever tags in first, the thread with Mattie happens last.)
