Trouble with Tribbles [OTA]

Apr 11, 2009 19:31

Data opened a cabinet just to step back as a mass of tribbles fell out, all of them trilling all the while. Supposedly the sound was soothing to humans. He found it unpleasant. Not that it was unpleasant in itself, but it was making the cat waiting for the torrent of furry vermin act irrationally. They were reproducing faster than she could eat them.

"No, Spot... do not... eat those. You are going to disgorge hairball." He watched as she hopped from one to the other, kicking and snarling and decidedly not paying attention to him.

With a resigned shrug, he decided to leave. Carefully stepping around her and the animals in the floor, he made his way to the door and out into the infested sixth floor hallway. ...Perhaps... no one had informed the Doctors about tribbles? Perhaps he should call them later.

His attention was broken by Spock exiting his room as well.

The Vulcan had been dealing with a dilemma of his own. The tribbles that Vila brought home had been multiplying, and minding them was becoming more of a chore than he was capable of dealing with.

He turned to look back into the room. "Vila. Do not eat those. You are going to expel a hairball." He shut the door behind him, nodded to the Lt. Commander, and set about finding others of his crew.

[(Catch either Spock or Data out and roaming the hotel. Vila referenced with permission.)]
