Laura had learned two weekends ago that the best way to wear out a nine month old was to take her to the pool. Not only would Laila take a nice nap, but she'd be tired enough to go to bed a little early and still sleep through the night. Dressing her in her little swimsuit then putting on her own, Laura slathered both of them in sunscreen, packed a diaper bag and headed up to the roof.
After putting a little hat on Laila and staking out a spot for them, Laura got into the shallow end of the water, sitting on a step with Laila between her legs who was happily hitting at the water an babbling loudly.
