Martin has been standing outside Las Mananta's for the last thirty minutes or so, a red rose in his hand and dressed up in a dark-blue suit with a pale blue shirt. His already long-by-nature face has grown longer with each passing minute ( Read more... )

Martha had been sitting inside, deciding on what to eat all by her lonesome, but she had been aware of the man standing outside. Either he had bad gas or someone stood him up - the rose seemed to suggest to Martha that it was the latter. She ordered some tacos to go and headed for the door.

She let the door close behind her as she inhaled the fresh air of the village before she looked over to the man. "Looks like they gave me more than I can eat. Would you care to help me so they don't go to waste?"

Martha lifted the bag and waved it around a little to indicate what she was referring to.

Martin stops glaring at the rose momentarily to look around for a) who's talking and b) who the voice is talking to. He recognises the woman as Doctor... uh, someone. He met her ages ago. My god, has he been here so long he's thinking in such terms? He drags his mind back to the question that - for lack of other people within earshot - must have been aimed at him. Nachos, he's eaten how many of those at the cinema?

"Are you sure you won't want more later, Doctor..." Damn, he still can't remember her name.

"Jones." She supplied with a smile. In her earlier years in the village, Martha might have been miffed about the lack of recognition, but she had definitely grown over the years.

"And you can call me Martha. Seems a bit silly otherwise when I'm not in a big white coat, yeah?" She grinned at him and then shook her head in response to his reply. "Tacos are best eaten with company I find. Wouldn't want to ruin my dining experience would you?" She lightly teased.

"Doctor Jones, right. Sorry. It's been a while..." And she probably doesn't remember it anyway. People quickly forget someone like Martin.

Also Martin not being in uniform never stopped Arthur from calling him Skipper and being in uniform often enough failed to make Douglas call him Captain. So excuse him if he looks a little weary at her reasoning to call her by her first name.

He eyes the tacos, uncertain if he's even hungry any more. But he doesn't want to offend her. He can probably manage one or two if she insists. "And no. No, I don't want to ruin your experience." It's bad enough his was ruined.
