God, yes, absolutely. I think Boyfriend!Blaine and Mentor!Blaine are so far from mutually exclusive.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one that understands this.

You know I always felt a little bad that mentor!Blaine was written off so quickly as a mask or a facade - I'm sure there are elements of that in Blaine's persona of course, but it was so nice to see the protective, sweet, going the extra mile boy from NBK again.

Those qualities are pretty great ones to have in a boyfriend I think!

Also my heart sort of broke when Blaine told Burt about finding the information for himself because whilst that is a good thing in itself, Blaine seems like he has made this journey alone and that part of what he wants is for Kurt not to have to do the same.

Finally picspam is deeply appreciated!

I agree with all of your thoughts here so much, and was confused and dismayed to see someone I really, really respect and enjoy the thoughts of, generally, say he felt almost exactly the opposite. I don't get it! Blaine is just showing himself to be more and more perceptive and caring and attentive, I feel. I love the pace right now, honestly, and I think it's leading to something really special.

They are building something truly spectacularly solid.

When people shock you like that, stick close to people who see things the right your way.

You can roll around in Blaine bubbles together. ♥

I agree 100%, and I even posted something to this effect on Tumblr. It just felt really significant to me when Kurt asked Blaine to leave, and then the next we see Blaine, he's approaching Burt about the situation. Even if Blaine is clueless as to his feelings at this point, they're definitely there.

Also, who are you on tumblr? I'd like to follow you if I'm not already! I'm candidlily there as well.

I think mentor isn't the right word. The most Irewatch thoses scenes, themost I don't put "mentor" on it. Blaine didn't do it to "fight his demons" through Kurt, he didn'tdo it so Kurt will like or admire him more. I feellike it is more complicated and in the same time extremely simple. He just "did it".Not because it was the right thing to do, becausehe wanted to, because he thought about it.

There is true altruism behind Blaine's action. It doesn't mean he can never be self-centered but, there is moment when he just think about the other person and it will never cross his mind to think about him at the moment.
