I hate being on my phone for things like this. I would add a clapping gif because this was beautiful, and wonderful and hopeful that people can change and that with each generation we can grow to be better human beings. Really, from the bottom of my heart, thanks for sharing.

What an amazing thing for you to share with us. *hugs you tightly*

Like Darren, I feel blessed because I grew up in the SF area, and just, from an extremely early age I never thought anything of same-sex couples being together. There has never been a difference in my head - it was just people falling in love, holding hands, kissing. (Not to say my family is the same - that is a totally different subject.)

But there's something about seeing it portrayed finally on television for such young audiences in such a positive light. Usually, gay teens are used for some sort of sensational "very special episode" or something, and you have to look to shows like "Brothers & Sisters" to get a beautiful portrayal of a truly in love gay couple who aren't forced through major periods of angst.

And Blaine and Kurt, they just... are, you know? It's so amazing to me. Literally, every time I watch either the scene you capped above or see a pic of the kiss, I just feel such joy, and it brings tears to my eyes. Because, it's just what you ( ... )

*hugs you tightly back*

I know the joy you're talking about. It still blows me away that I feel that joy - and that the show is allowing up to see such an important example.

That's so amazing that the show has taught you and changed you. It's so special.

I was very fortunate to have a mum who is extremely liberal and very open minded compared to a father who, well, isn't.
She always brought me up to be understanding of others and to be very accepting - in all areas of life such as with others with disabilities (she worked with people with physical and mental difficulties) and sexuality came as a bi-product of that teaching. I lived with her best friend who was gay and his partner for a while when my parents got divorced and so I guess, since then, I've always been very aware of how completely and utterly NORMAL it is.

I'm SO happy the show has shown you such POSITIVE things- it's AMAZING for you to have been changed by the storyline and for you to be able to enjoy it so much because it IS just a love story.
I'm so happy FOR you and it's so brave to share such a story with people. I hope it can do the same for others out there who have been taught, from an early age, the way you were :)

I feel like I talk about it a lot, but when something changes you this much, all you want to do is talk about it and rejoice and share your story so that perhaps others can be moved by it and/or have their own life changes.

Whenever Darren talks about getting letters from fans that tell him they've changed because of his work on Glee, I always hope he's thinking of mine - because it meant so much to me to tell him, even if it was just a letter thrown on stage at The Roxy - but I know I'm not the only one who has been changed by this.
