So, on AO3 I think the best idea ever is to have a dropdown in the 'choose additional tags' list that's for 'excluding *insert tag here

I think a blacklist tag idea would be a good idea.

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with incest fic. I understand that it's a squick of yours, and I get that. I'm not particularly a fan of it, most times. I don't really like scat stuff, but some people get off on it. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with the person or something they like in real life, just something that turns them on in fiction. Like I said, I don't read much incest stuff, but sometimes how it's handled does interest me.

Lol yeah, I get that, but not ~really? If that makes sense? Like, there's pretty much nothing in fics that I like that I have a problem with IRL. Well, apart from bad things but then I dont like them in fics either. My friend tried to explain it to me and I UNDERSTAND what people are saying with 'just because I fic it doesn't mean I like it or approve IRL, I just don't share this 'fic vs rl' thing. If I like it in fics, I'm generally okay with it IRL. I understand on a 'oh, this is how it is for them' level, but I dont 'get' it because TO ME, if I don't like it IRL, I'm not going to like it in fic. Ever. Well 99% of the time ever.

I guess it's part of why I'm so picky about fics, lol!

I definitely get not being able to see past your POV on some topics. Like I said, there are kinks that I can't get behind on any level. But it seems a bit harsh to be like "OMG what's wrong with them" when talking about people's kinks.

I don't know how to blacklist things, but I wish you best of luck in finding out! Ditto on incest squicks. It's really disturbing that people can enjoy that, though I tend to just barf to myself without making much of a fuss, since I don't like to alienate fellow fans. (I would assume incest fans have no siblings themselves, but there are way too many of them to be just only children. O.o)

Dude, I remember a waycest writer whose TWIN was her beta *shudders*.

And yeah, I'm in a fandom where twincest is the main pairing so I just keep it to myself around them.

I wish blacklisting was a thing. I doubt that'll happen, it would take SO MUCH coding and work to program it, but I'd enjoy it because there are just a few things that are SO COMMON that I get tired of (like the alpha/omega stuff, it was cool before every other fic in one of my favorites was that) and I know a lot of people have more squicks they would love to blacklist.

I'm in several fandoms with incest pairings, too. (Mainly Supernatural and my newest bandom, Tokio Hotel.) Glad I'm not the only one who quietly agrees to disagree. :)

Lol Tokiohotel is the one I'm in where twincest is the main pairing. I just really cannot wrap my head around it, lol.

I know this is an older post but there is an internet add-on you can download called ao3 savior that lets you block certain tags if you haven't heard of it by now. I don't like Steve/Tony either and it made it so much easier to find good works without having to weed out all of that particular pairing.
