After four days of training and a few tests, I got certified for lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid. I took the classes at URI with Andy and a few other guys from school. It was only a four-day course and it only took about 30something hours. Over all it wasn't bad, I passed the written exam with a 59/60 and did both rescue scenarios in one attempt. ( Read more... )

Are you considering actually becoming a life-guard or is it just an interesting class you decided to take part in?

Funny you should ask. My uncle asked me a similar question when he learned that I was interested in taking the class. He asked me if I was only doing it to meet boys. But the answer is no. I actually want to become a lifeguard during this summer if not sooner.
