Hawks and vultures are swooping around in paired mating flights over the canyon. The climate varies between winter chill at night and summer warmth in the day. This morning's golden sunrise slanted sidewise along the landscape, lighting the pale trunks of sycamores against the dark mist. Bright and dark, day and night, winter and summer are paired
