I watched some fifth estate thing about the status of liberals and conservatives in America. Of course it was left-wing, what's the name of the current politcal party in power in Canada?
Basically it was about how the right is suffocating the left, liberals are "all that's wrong with the world" apparantly. Lefties are evil, witches I suppose they will start to be burnt at the stake soon. Crucify them!
Fuckin' Bill O' Reilly is all that's wrong with the world, I thought some blog column about him being a bubbling vagina was harsh but no. Not at all. He doesn't debate on his show with his guests, he yells at them! How can I respect someone's opinion who doesn't respect other peoples?
I'm really really angry at all this, and I hope that the majority of people wise up and realize that only teaching abstinece in highschools just leads to pregnant teenagers-pregnant, ostracized teenagers and that there doesn't need to be teams....no good vs evil, no us vs them. It is possible to be neutral, remember Swizterland?
Why does this annoy me so much? Well ignorance, idiocy & rudeness happen to be 3 of my little pet peeves and I do worry about say, the state of the world, billions of people in countries other than my own, you know weird stuff like that. Also I'm worried about the media. News and talk shows are already controlled by more than just popular opinion and retarded right-wing values are already reflected in TV like this show that I will talk about soon.... so I'm worried about my movies and TV. Will there be any movies that aren't about an individual stumbling towards the light? That's the new storyline nowdays, think the U2 album....in troubled times people tend to want to get closer to themselves + those they love. It's comforting....and unhelpful.....
I hope they remember that Amendment about free speech...
The TV show I didn't like was some shitty little drama that gets lots of ratings....7th Heaven or something. Some orphan biy wanted to get married so he could have a family, like the one he never had. Subplot: some chick finds a baby bird. Somehow at the end of the show, it gets but to its family. The Orphan decides that he will wait to get married now, because "If God took so much time in giving that little bird a family,I'm sure he'll do the same for me."
NO HE FUCKING WON'T!!! If he wanted you to have a family, why didn't he just give you one in the first place??? YOU"RE GOING TO DIE ALONE!!!! (ha ha aw :( )
I know people believe in God but let's get this straight; God didn't put you on Earth for any special reason becuase God didn't put you on this Earth. Two people boinked and 9 or however many months later, you popped out. God was clever that way, he made creatures that are self-sufficient so he can concentrate on more important things, like I dunno, that great mystical plan that invovled creating flawed individuals to be judged during their short, potentially tragic lives. I'd like to believe (at least something) sometimes, but it's just too convient, too obvious to see the appeal and reason. And people have just fucked up religion anyway. I really don't understand this "We're all here for a reason" garbage, what the hell good is it for you to have a special reason to exist but to not know about it??? Ugh. I hate people >_<
Well....no I don't. I love people but .... I feel like most of them are wasting their potential. Ever heard those stories of people gathering together to lift cars off an injured person or people coming together to raise money for perfect strangers who are having it bad, like the tsunami victims? Have you ever seen anything so beautiful as a random, completely unnessicary act of kindness from one perfect stranger to another? What are we doing with ourselves? Pfft. Losers.
I wish I could make things better, but I'm not sure how. The commercial for the Iraqi election almost made me cry. It's a peaceful, meadow with a blue blue sky and two Iraqi children are playing. Their smiles are so happy + innocent while they fold up a piece of paper into some kind of shape. As they hold it up I was so certain that something would blow them up. A mine, a stray missile, a flury of bullets. Even that has controversy behind it, the other politcal party doesn't get any US support or TV time. I wish that people would stop being so stupid and selfish and just realize that....well, it doesn't all really matter all that much and that we are only here for so long, we might as well make it as pleasant and enjoyable for everyone.
I kinda feel like crying again :(. Sadness makes me sad....
