the frontal lobe of the brain - yeah, wish i didn't have one of those right now. i'm reading this book called Stumbling on Happiness and basically it's about how our mind works and why we think the way we do and blahblahblah. in this book it talks about the frontal lobe a little bit and how it's use is connected with planning. people with damaged ( Read more... )

Isn't the frontal lobe also where your personality lies? I'm pretty sure that's what they destroy in lobotomies. You'd be like Jack Nicholson at the end of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! I know what you mean though; it'd be great if you could just switch off your caring and planning brain for a while, especially when trying to sleep.

Obviously I don't know the situation well enough to comment on feddy. Suffice to say I hope you feel better. The same goes for your family friend. As for the thoughts, try not to feel guilty about thinking things like that. Nobody can control what they think. The fact that you've recognised what you're thinking and become upset by it shows that you're aware of what you should perhaps be thinking of and that's what matters... if that made any sense.
