CHAPTER 45: THE LOVE IS BLIND
“Why the hell are you quarrelling with Aoki Kengo? Are you out of your mind?” Nishikido Ryo nagged at him as he took out some cotton from the emergency kit box.
Yamapi averted his eyes and looked out of his window. Somehow, the pain on his cheek and abdomen already subsided but it could not compare the pain in his heart.
Damn Kengo!!
What an asshole!
How could a man like him abuse a pitiful woman like that!
Plus she is pregnant! Damn!
His thoughts stopped immediately when the kansai man pressed the swollen area on his face making him groaned out loud.
“Ouch!! Ouch! Damn Ryo! It is painful! What the hell are you pressing on the wound that hard! ” Ryo ignored his complaints and nabbed even harder than before. This time, he nagged longer while putting some medicine on swollen area. The wound stung a little bit and the hunky man could not help but moaned softly.
“Gee…you looked so powerful and looked like a warrior when you were kicked by that bastard’s ass just now. Even you can manage to hold his violent punches. This thing cannot be compared with those.” Ryo spoke nonchalantly as he put the medicine bottle aside.
Yamapi rolled his eyes listening to the man’s sarcastic words. He knew himself that Ryo did not like at all with the fight that he just had with Aoki Kengo. He knew why. Nishikido Ryo sighed and folded his arms across his broad chest while looking at him. Silent stretched between two of them for a long time making Yamapi felt uncomfortable.
“What!” Ryo sneered as he shook his head when Yamapi shot him with an annoying look to him. Sometimes, his boss was a fool; a fool who was blinded by love and lies.
“Be honest with me, Pi. Why this kind of thing happened?” The question was unswerving and the man’s words were firm. Looking out the window, Yamapi pretended as if he did not hear it.
Why this kind of thing happened? He asked the same questions. Last night he was sure that Masami was lying about her pregnancy, but he could not stop thinking about it.
“What the heck are you two doing?” Aoki Hiroshi’s loud voice broke the silence in the room.
Nishikido Ryo quickly went to Yamapi and helped him getting on his feet. His body ached and his face started to become swollen. His fingers quickly touched his lips and some blood was on them. Kengo, who stood a few feet from, smirked proudly on what he had done to him. Seeing him acting like that made his blood boiled immediately. The old man’s interruption did not give him chance to hit the man back. Gripping his fist tight, Yamapi ran his eyes to somewhere else and found that his fight with Kengo was witnessed by someone he really did not like; Mukai Osamu. Damn!
“Explain!” Unable to wait, the old man hit the floor with his cane and roared.
Aoki Kengo brushed his lips with his finger as he eyed the old man. Nothing came out from his mouth. Instead his eyes wandered to Masami who stood at the corner of room, remaining silence.
“I think it is better I let that son of the bitch explain it to you, ojichan.” The pale man smirked as he raised his eyebrows, trying to bait Yamapi back to the fight. Well, it worked for him.
“Damn you...!!” Before the hunky man could step forward hitting the annoying man, Nishikido Ryo already pulled him and held him tight in his arms.
“ Hell….Pi! Calm down!” The kansai man whispered softly as he gripped his shirt.
Yamapi gritted his teeth and inhaled as much air possible. Anger still did not diminish within him. Masami, who stood not far from him, was only looking at him. Both of her hands clutched tightly on her skirt. Yamapi could see her body trembled and fear reflected in both of her eyes. If it was not because of his grandfather, he would already kick the son of the bitch and took her away from him.
Before Yamapi knew, Aoki Kengo went to Masami and grabbed the woman’s arms roughly ignoring the fact that everyone was looking at him. In that moment, his body sent signal to move and protected the woman from the beast. Unfortunately, his assistant leashed him tight behind him and persuaded him to ignore it. The poor woman, Masami just looked at him helplessly tailing behind Kengo unwillingly.
“Where are you going, Kengo? This is not finish yet!” The old man asked when the pale man opened the door.
“Home, why? Do I have to tell you about it too, ojichan?” Kengo snapped at the old man as he gave him a mocking look. Then, he pulled the woman into his embrace and kissed her cheeks making the woman beside her became stiff.
“My fiancée and I had something to finish at home, something really private, right dear?” His finger softly brushed the blood that caked at her lips making Masami shuddered instantly. Her round eyes widened in terror. Still, she managed to control it although.
“Damn you, Kengo! You…!” His voice was loud and anger laced among the words.
“Silence!” Aoki Hiroshi cut his words immediately making the scoffed irritatingly. The pale skin man hooted loudly seeing the situation and it added more fuel to Yamapi’s anger. However, it was only for a while before he gave him a murdering look.
“This is not the end, Pi. No! We will continue this later.” Kengo’s words were icy and cold as he warned him. Then, the man walked out of the room, dragging Masami along with him who seemed to glance at Yamapi for the last time. The hunky man felt helpless in that situation. Once both of them were out of the room, his grandfather shot him a look.
“Explain all of these, Tomohisa!” snarled Aoki Hiroshi.
Yamapi closed his eyes and heaved a deeper breathe. How could he explain it to his grandfather about the things just happened? How could he? They were all about his baby, about the abusive behaviour of Kengo and about everything. How could he? Slowly, he lifted his eyes and noticed that the owner of Sakura Company remained at his place and looked at him. His dark eyes was on him exactly. Embarrassment spread all over his face and somehow he felt hot. Knowing the man was there witnessing all his fight with Kengo made him feeling uncomfortable about it.
“Tomohisa…I asked you…”
“It is nothing, ojichan. Nothing.” Yamapi quickly cut the old man’s words. The need to get out of that place overpowered him especially when other people not from his company existed there. Plus, he needed to get Masami before Kengo took her somewhere else. The man was a dangerous man.
“Tomohisa!! Don’t you dare leaving without explaining to me!” Still, that did not stop his movements. Before Yamapi reached the door, he managed to glance at Mukai Osamu who just smiled at him; a very big and knowing smile. That made him even felt angry.
“Fine. You do not want to talk about it.” Ryo’s deep voice brought him into the reality. The man stood up and packed back the emergency kit box and kept talking.
“I will be frank with you Pi because I did not want to be like other people who talk behind your back. It is not like I do not respect you because you are my boss, but I think after I saw the incident today, I think you are the…..” The words stopped and that managed to steal Yamapi’s attention.
“What…?”
“Nothing…nothing Pi.” Ryo shook his head as he looked at him before he moved to the shelves behind his table. He kept the emergency kit in it.
“What is it, Ryo?” Filled with curiosity, Yamapi asked. There was urgency in it.
“Do you really want to know about this? It is not nice you know.” Yamapi nodded fast. He did not have to play read between lines games with Ryo since both of them were honest with each other.
“Okay. Well, don’t be mad. You are quite a fool when it comes to love.” Yamapi scoffed and laughed for a while. It was totally contra with his assistant, Ryo who remained serious. Noticing this made Yamapi stopped laughing and eyed on Ryo seriously.
“I mean it, Pi. I never knew a stupid man or exactly a stupid boss like you.” With that confession, Yamapi quickly grabbed Ryo’s collar and pulled him. Anger bubbled inside him.
“See. This is why Kengo and Masami easily manipulate you. You are losing easily when it comes to feeling and emotion, easily drown in them. Admit it, Pi.”
“Shut up, Ryo! You don’t know anything!” Yamapi pushed the man and stood up. In the room, he felt hot and stuffy especially with his assistance sudden remarks.
“Really, Pi? I don’t think so. I could guess really well the cause of your fight with Kengo.” Yamapi clenched his fist when Ryo spoke to him. Although he felt very annoy with the man, still Ryo was honest with him.
“You don’t know anything Ryo….nothing. So…” Ryo closed his eyes helplessly listening to Yamapi’s words. The man was stupid and stubborn after all.
“Fine. It’s up to you….up to you, Pi. I already do my job here to get you into right track. I am already honest with you.” Ryo walked towards the door as he carried along a few files with him. Before he reached the door, he laughed softly and turned around, looking at Yamapi who stood by the window.
“Funny isn’t it, both of us blinded by love and lies; easily blinded by them.” There was a hint of sadness in his words as he said them. Seeing Ryo saying those words made the man looked lonely. Extremely lonely. As if he understood the meaning behind the man’s words, Yamapi spoke.
“And that’s why you are losing the love of your life easily, Ryo. That is.” With that, Ryo gazed at Yamapi for a long time before replied it.
“And you don’t?”Yamapi became silence at once with sudden question. Unknowingly, he swallowed hard. Ryo continued laughed bitterly and added with his eyes looked distant.
“Both of us are losing the love of our life, Pi. Losing it badly….”
With that, Ryo bowed and went out leaving Yamapi alone his room. Slowly, he looked at his warm big hand and thought about the man’s last words.
I am doing the right thing, right?

Ryo shut the heavy door carefully and leaned against it. Deep sigh came out from his mouth as he closed his eyes. His boss’s words played inside his mind.
And that’s why you are losing the love of your life easily, Ryo.
The Kansai man bit her lips and quickly his hand went to his heart. The words were sharp and he did not deny about it. Maybe he was
too timid to admit his love toward the woman. With other women, it was easy. However, Erika was different. When he looked at her, he felt like his stomach filled with butterflies, his palms sweat and his head turned dizzy. The only condition that he made lost all of those symptoms was quarrelling with her. Somehow, it worked really well. However, it did not stop him from falling in love with her. Again and again.
If she is here right now, I will confess to her immediately saying about his love that he kept inside his heart since they were in kindergarten.
The sudden thought made Ryo opened his eyes and chuckled softly. Baka…..she is so mad at him right now. It is impossible. The owner of raven hair shook his head and straightened his body. Then, his heart stopped at the sudden sight. Stunned with current situation, Ryo blinked his eyes a few times to make sure his eyesight was not lying to him.
“Yoyo…” With his name came out from her lips, he was sure that he was not having any hallucination after all. Toda Erika was standing a few feet from him, looking worried than ever.
Gosh…it is true.
“I…are…….” Her words stopped. She clasped her hands uncomfortably as she looked everywhere else except him. Feeling defeated with the situation, Erika shook her head and spoke softly.
“Never mind…..”
The woman started to walk away from him. Frankly, if he was still thinking that he was having hallucination, he would let the imagination went away. However his heart said something else. Unknowingly, his body moved automatically and before he knew he was grabbing Erika’s wrist and pulled her toward him. Both of them were standing in front of each other and it was the closest ever since their fight a few weeks ago. Erika’s eyes went to his hands which circled around her wrist. Nervous came all over him again and he quickly let it go. The hands which it just touched hers felt somehow clammy and sweaty. Inhaling a deeper breathe, Ryo spoke softly.
“Sorry…I didn’t mean to.” Gosh, since when he was so nervous with Erika? Then, he looked at her. Today she tied her hair in a ponytail and wore blue dress. Seeing her like that made his heart flutter a little bit.
“What is it? Do you have any problem?” The man broke the silence when he noticed that she did not talk at all.
“Yamashita san…is he…”Before she could finish, the door behind them was opened and Yamapi walked out of it while wearing his coat. His appearance made the woman became stunned immediately.
“What happened to your face, Yamashita san?” The question flew out immediately from her mouth. The well-built man looked at somewhere else as if he was reluctant to answer it.
“He fought with Aoki Kengo,” Ryo helped Yamapi answering the question nonchalantly as he folded his arms across his broad chest. This made the woman looked at him in a surprise manner. Before she could ask more, Yamapi walked towards the exit and gave instruction to Ryo.
“I am going out, Ryo. Don’t call me.” Ryo rolled his eyes as his boss opened the door.
“Are you going to see her?” The question managed to stop Yamapi from continuing his pace.
“It is none of your business.” The man replied just like that and leaved the place making Ryo chan grunted irritatingly. Toda Erika looked at Ryo with curiosity filled her eyes. Knowing the woman for more than twenty years made Ryo understood the woman really well.
“Do you want to ask what happened, Erika? Well, like I said…”
“I know that, but…”
“Why?Pfft….for the same reason.” Ryo gave her the same shoulder motion like you know what kind of things.
“I don’t understand…” His best friend heaved a helpless sigh and looked at Erika squarely in her eyes. They talked as if they never fight before this and it did not matter at all. Strange how it felt that Yamashita Tomohisa’s problem could avert their attention after all.
“About Nagasawa Masami,”Erika scoffed as she heard it.
“But…the two of them broke up and she…”Before she could finish her sentence, Ryo cut in.
“She is pregnant with his child, Erika.” With that, Toda Erika gasped and closed her mouth with her hand.
“Wh-what?”
“And Pi is confident that it is his child,” Ryo added more.
The woman who was standing beside him could see how frustrated the man he told her. Instantly, the woman looked at the door, the place where Yamapi disappeared just now. Somehow, her mission for coming to the place was destroyed after knowing it.
Then….how about the witch? What will happen to their marriage?
And who….who is going to help her?

Yes. I already gave up this fic. Seriously. However, some of you wrote to me and encouraged me to keep writing. In addition, the fic kept playing inside my mind these last few months making me write it again. Silly isn’t it. I know that the readers will not be as much as three years back, but what the hell, the urge to write overpower everything. To loyal readers, thank you so much.
