The Stormtrooper Pez dispenser in the foreground makes it extra special.

Well, being a Stormtrooper, he is guarding the big piece of black plastic for Heath.

Of course, being a Stormtrooper also means that, if you try to take it, he will miss you with every shot, even a point-blank range.

How do you shape this stuff? Vacuum-form?

It's thermoformable. One could use a vacuum form, or it can simply be shaped by hand after spending some time in an oven. A heat gun also works well to shape it.

It's probably cheaper here, right down the street from where I work (I order PVC, Styrene, and a host of other plastics from them for use in signage). Do post whatever you make from it, sounds like lots of fun.

You're just a cool motherfucker, you know that?

Yeah, it's probably cheaper there, but I couldn't find any place like that in my searches. McMaster-Carr is great in that they carry everything, but they're generally about twice as much as a dedicated supplier for a given material. I'd be pretty stoked to find kydex for $3 sq/ft. I'll give 'em a jingle and see what's what.

I'll be making and modifying stuff for competitive shooting, mostly boring stuff. I'm going to give it a whirl today, so I'll post the results later.
