Oh, nice! It always makes me a wee bit uncomfortable to see mainstream people talking about our fandom categories and such, but it's great that this article does it with such respect.

I think it's just a waste of energy to get all up in arms about fanfic, for any author. Like you said, there's nothing new under the sun, and transformative works are just not about stealing the author's thunder or making profit in any way, so I don't really get it.
