Haha yeeeeah, we all went through that with OSC, ugh.

I think it's just a waste of energy to get all up in arms about fanfic, for any author. Like you said, there's nothing new under the sun, and transformative works are just not about stealing the author's thunder or making profit in any way, so I don't really get it.
