For someone who's gone 26 years without every experiencing one, it's kind of a big deal. Especially since no one is this area really knew how to react when it happened.
NYC is all flappy hands about it, but half of us around here didn't feel a thing. Like, my parents experienced their first earthquake (and were evacuated from work), but I was 5 miles away and didn't feel a thing!
That picture of the tipped-over lawn chair pretty much sums this whole thing up!
We definitely felt it but in MD we're a little closer. It's definitely not a big deal or anything, but I've never felt anything like it in my life so for that reason alone it's remarkable XP
I totally posted that lawn chair photo on my FB page. Too funny. I couldn't resist posting my own devastation photos.
People talked about the Earthquake in our building for about 20 minutes, especially when the "Fire Emergency Safety Di-rector" kept making announcements over the PA that we'd figured out 20 minutes ago. Good comedy.
