+ Hope everyone on the East Coast is safe and survived the storming! It wasn't bad where I am, we actually had a worse storm a couple weeks ago--or at least one that kept us out of power longer than Irene did. I think we were spared the worst because I was actually prepared this time. And by prepared I mean there were flashlights and booze. But I'm ( Read more... )

FLUFFYTHOR <3

Haha it really ain't about much these days. Cheap plot twists without exploring what it means to the characters. like if you get spoiled for the twists there's nothing to watch for because that's all there is to the show.

Yeah DW right now is just something I'm watching to take notes on what I'M going to do when I'M the showrunner (first off will be casting Angel Coulby as The Doctor, but I digress). Moffat was coasting on his epic story telling ability with me in S5 but now it actually comes time for proper characterisation and he loses points EVERY episode. His treatment of the female characters is getting less and less excusable. What i hate is that RTD was FAR from perfect, but Moffat is actually changing everything that Doctor Who is actually ABOUT, as a show, which RTD did manage to just about keep intact, whatever else he messed up. He's straying away from everything that makes the Doctor THE DOCTOR. It PISSES ME OFF.

Ditto on pottermore. I feel like I won't really use it much, but not being ABLE to use it is annoying.

Also, plate or platter? ;)

Sooo glad you are safe!! Sorry I'm so Mia from metro. Life is too busy for me to have any fun. *pouts*

Always so cheering to see you post here!

I also survived Irene with no damage other than losing a precious day of vacation with the Love of My Life, but I have a co-worker who's been trapped by floods for a week!

Wait, Doctor Who has started up again? How do I not know this? (Possibly because I lost my internet connection at the beginning of the summer and am still working on getting it replaced.) I will have to track it down.

Enjoyed the link to the piece about gritty not equalling smart--there is so much more to say about this topic, and the importance of sophisticated, non-gritty storytelling.
