For those of you who haven't heard the sad news, Kim Manners, beloved director and producer of Supernatural, passed away last night from lung cancer.

Such sad news. My heart goes out to his family, and to the boys. He seemed like such a genuine friend and mentor to them.

I like the fan collection idea.

It is very sad news and I only wish we had known he was sick so that we could have shown our love while he was alive.

A friend of mine is looking into a fan collection and I will keep you posted as details get finalized.

i might suggest involving the xf fandom as well... he meant as much to the xf as supernatural.

It is such terribly sad news and I feel like I'm in shock. I only wish we had known he was sick because I feel like we didn't get to say good-bye or let him know how much he meant to us.

I know that a collection is in the works. My friend Sue is active in the fandom and will send me the details as they become final.

Yeah, i know what you mean. I think I've been in shock all morning. I definately wasnt expecting this. Hope everyone is okay over there coz even when your expecting stuff like this when it actually happens its a blow.

Such sad news. I lost my mom almost 4 years ago to lung cancer that spread to her brain, so when I see those words together it always feels like an extra kick to the gut for me.

I think a collection is a lovely idea and I'll keep my eyes on your lj for updates. And here I'd been secretly hoping that maybe Kim would be signed as a guest at the Vancouver con. How sad that that opportunity will never come about. I do wish we'd known he was sick but I certainly can understand his or his family's desire for privacy.

I'm still here at work... too numb to get myself ready for the drive home. I'd better pack up though. Give the hubby and dogs some extra time.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I think the only good that comes form such tragedy is that it reminds us how fragile and short life is.

My mother died February 16th so that anniversary is coming up shortly. My sister has *finally* quit smoking as of this past October. I so hope she can kick the habit for good.
