I am posting this in my journal for two reasons - to keep track of my progress and maybe help others to think about their smoking habits.  I  had been a closet smoker for years and am now quitting.  Had smoked for over 30 years in all.  When I didn't smoke I sucked on nicotine lozenges.  I don`t want my paintings to have the smell of smoke on ( Read more... )

Heather, I'm so pleased to hear you are quitting and sending lots of positive vibes your way to keep it so. And isn't it oh so nice to be able to say and do what you want, I like that too. Of course, you forgot to say "eccentric CAT lady". ;-)

Heather this is wonderful news! I had no idea you were quitting, or even that you smoked, lol. I quit almost 30 years ago now ... I was a terribly heavy smoker. Truly it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. I rarely want to smoke anymore unless I am around people smoking certain cigarettes. I can still walk into a crowded room and head directly to the person who is smoking Virginia Slims, lol. I also have a friend who smokes Marlboro, which is what I smoked for years prior to the V.S.

I am really proud of you for doing this, and especially for your reasoning in the process. Here's to your success!
