2010 Friending Frenzy!!!
In light of many of my other LJ friends who recently did a Friending Frenzy as a way to meet new friends AND for your own LJ friends to meet new friends, I decided to do a post myself. I wouldn't mind some more LJ friends and I know some of my fellow LJ-ers have recently made posts asking for friend recommendations. So hopefully this will be away for many of you to connect and meet new people!

Here I Am.
I'm Heather, and I'm 30 years old, and I'm an LJ addict who doesn't post or comment nearly as often as I should (but I'm hoping this will motivate me, and YOU (yes YOU!) to post more often, comment, and mingle. I've been on LJ for 5 1/2 years so far and many of you on my FL are my original friends. Thanks for sticking around!!
I'm a born and raised small town Indiana gal and have lived within the same area all my life. My high school class only had about 95 students and the town I grew up in had 6 stoplights. It wasn't until I was 24 that we had a pizza delivery place! Now I live in a bigger town where we have a movie theater and wait for it....a WAL-MART! (sarcasm).
I'm engaged to a great (and sometimes not so great, lol) guy named Andy, and he has three girls (Lori, 13; Kristen, 11; Andrea, 6 1/2) from his previous marriage. Here is a pic of them.
I myself dont have any children, and it is a 99.993333% likelihood that I never will. I do have a fur baby though, my English Bulldog Winston. He's a little over a year old. Andy has a 2 yr old boxer named Mya and she's like my baby as well :)
We get the girls every weekend or so through the non-school months and as often as we can in the summer. Andy works the 3:30-midnight shift, so it makes it difficult for him to see me and the girls as often as he would like. We have only been engaged since June of this year, and plan on having a destination wedding in HAWAII next June. 6/18/11. Mark your calendars!!

I used to be a huge fitness buff when I was 24-27yrs old and I still enjoy regualar exercise. However, since getting comfortable with my relationship and less concerned about how people see me (to an extent) my exercise and eating habits have become lax over the past couple of years. I want to be buff again for my wedding. So if you join my journal you may be included on a fitness and/or wedding filter to track my progress and planning.

This is what I am striving to look like again. I'm currently 20lbs over that weight and have a greater fat to muscle ratio now as compared with then.
Family Background:
My parents divorced when I was 17, but both still live around the area. My mom is 48 and my dad is 52. I have a 26 year old brother, and a 10 year old half sister from my mom's 2nd marriage. My mom had an 'oops' when she was 38. I'm not very close at all to my father or my brother. I'm pretty close to my mom, but I feel more like my sister's aunt or something rather than her sister. A 20 year age difference will do that!
Some of my hobbies are riding on the Harley with Andy, working out, reading, watching movies, going to concerts, shopping, traveling, tubing down the river, and tons more. Andy offered to teach me to ride his Harley last year but it's too big for me :(
Random Facts:
*I'm currently working on a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Human Development.
*Come August 2010, I will also be pursuing a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism. Both degrees are being pursued online but they will keep me busy!
*Right now I work with the State of Indiana Department of Child Services as an Investigator and Foster Care Specialist. I conduct child abuse investigations and recruit and license foster parents.
*I waitress on Sundays at a local diner called the Chrome Grill. It's a 50s style diner with black and white floor tiles, bar stools, and red patent leather booths. I've been doing that for going on three years now. (Damn, didnt realize it had been that long!)
*I was married from Dec 2003 to April 2008. I was with my ex in all for nearly 10 years.
*I was born completely deaf in my left ear. The condition wasnt realized until a hearing physical required to enter kindergarten. I got considered "disabled" through a Vocational Rehabilitation program in Indiana and they paid for ALL of my undergrad schooling. I'm not sure I would have went to college if I didn't have their assistance.
