Ugh. Politics. I'm over it. It was a rough year of debate. I was a Clinton supporter, so I got it from Republicans and Obama supporters.

Also people mocking Twilight and squeeing over the on coming HBP movie or raging over the Amazon De-Ranking Fiasco.

I thought Twilight was okay until the last one. Then I was embarrassed to say I read the first 3.

The HBP movie is kind of the reason I remembered this journal. I don't follow HP fandom at all anymore and really haven't followed the movie news either, so I'm behind the times. Gotta go to Leaky and catch up on the news.

The Amazon thing is just the reason why people should support that damn company. I manage a bookstore, so it's a personal and professional mission for me to get the word out about Amazon's shady business practices.

I've been great! I manage a bookstore now and have decided to make that my career. Still single, but happily single now.

I hope everyone else is doing great, too.

Oh, I can see you being great at managing a bookstore. And happy single is a good place to be. :D

I'm a teacher now at the Icelandic equivalent of high school and hoping to get a permanent position this fall as the one I'm in now is only temporary. I rather like being a teacher.

Good to hear from you! Are you managing the store you were working at a few years ago?

I don't have much to add on the "what's happening" front. There hasn't been much fandom to speak of lately, the last few big things being Lexicongate, Melissa Anelli's fandom biography, and Beedle the Bard - all of which were last year and older.

I'm at a different store now. I've moved to Pittsburgh (was living just outside it before).

I've been able to keep up with the fandom fringes just by being in the book business, and I've read Melissa's biography and of course Beedle.

I have to say, I don't miss the fandom fighting at all and it's probably the reason I dropped out so unexpectedly.
