I *hate* organiziations like that. There's nothing Christian about them...they're the exact opposite...and they are always the last ones to notice.

I'm an advocate for Compassion International, an organization that aids children in poverty, and we had to agree to a list of things, one of which was that the Bible was the infallible word of God. I'm not even sure my *dad* would agree that it's infallible because he knows its origins the same as I do, but that's not really the point. Part of it is the Word of God, sure. Most of it is the Word of Man (as in Male Humans) who were part of a patriarchal, nomadic, desert people. Humans are always fallible.

You lost absolutely nothing from that situation, only gained. More power to you.

Oh, i agree that i lost nothing... but i feel it is important to note that they THOUGHT they were doing the right thing. they bore me no ill will, and i truly think they thought that this was the best way to "help" me, or at least to not hurt me while keeping me from hurting others. i think that there may have been some recent issues within the church with homosexuality... one mans wife leaving him for a woman and a few people who had been "cured" and were now happily married, and i dunno, perhaps my refusal to repent and change would have caused them to backslide. *wink* or at least... i think thats what they might have been thinking. they prolly prayed over the decision and everything.
im not saying they were right, just that they weren't trying to be malicious.
