Tomorrow morning, I am getting my pesky old gallbladder removed. It's developed a gigantic gallstone which has been bothering me off-and-on for the last few months, and constantly for the last two months. I was trying to hold off on surgery til Amelia was in kindergarten, but my doctor sat me down and told me that if I waited too long for surgery, ( Read more... )

You're going to feel so much better once that is out. Have Tom post or something just to let us know when you're out. I'll be thinking of you. :)

I cannot wait til it is gone. I'm pretty miserable right now.

Tom is charged with calling Susan once I'm out of surgery. :)

Really sad to read this.

I trust you've exhausted all other alternative options?

I've had "silent gallstones" for three years, and painful ones for the last six months. I've changed my diet to try to stop their formation, but the pain is overwhelming at this point.

I am down to eating one meal a day, and the pain is constant. I know there are other alternative therapies beyond diet, but I just don't have the time or energy right now.

I respect your decision - please don't take this as anything but sincere concern. The fact is that once your gallbladder is out, it's out for good.

I wish there was some alternative method you could use which would give you relief.

Please take care of yourself, and consider seeking some care for your abdominal area post-surgery, when it's appropriate, to minimize further problems from scar tissue and adhesions.

Wanting only the best for you.
