You know, I don't really know.

I mean, I won't even remember this conversation one day. It doesn't seem like there's any difference in becoming a shinigami or dying.

Oh no. Dying is something completely different. No one really knows what happens after Death beyond a Death Note user ultimately being annihilated at some point - whether by becoming a Shinigami or other means.

So? Don't tell me you could remember every last conversation you had as a human.

Yeah, but when you become a shinigami, aren't you essentially dying? You no longer have any knowledge of your previous life. The person you once were is then, essentially, dead.

I'm not saying I could... but I could remember the important ones. Now, I don't even remember those.
