[Lockon can be seen in his kitchen, a cookbook in one hand, a large spoon in the other. He's standing at the stove, peering into a pot.]

Jeez, this shouldn't be that hard. It's soup. Soup, Lockon, you can manage soup, even if you're not using potatoes or any of the usual ingredients. Right. Chicken. Chicken is simple enough. [He looks back and ( Read more... )

Oh. [He stares between the parsley and the pot, sighing.] That explains it, then.

Yeah. It's okay! You'll get it eventually.

I hope so. It's not like I haven't cooked for myself for over half a decade, but even with that, I've never managed it well.

What's so funny?! [His voice sounds mock-desperate/pathetic, though.]

It's... cute. [Hands the parsley to him.]

My pathetic desperation and failure at cooking is cute? You're horrible, Allelujah. [He takes the parsley, shrugging before throwing it in, figuring that the soup can't possibly get any worse.]

Not used to the craft either, hm?

Still, that's no reason to make someone else do it for you when you're perfectly able to learn yourself. If you have the time to forge that kind of relationship, I dare say you could spare a fraction of it to pick up a new skill. [... She can't cook either, btw. |D]

Someone's serious business about this. [Sigh, but a smile nonetheless.] Well, you're right, anyway. It's a necessary skill.

I'm just stating facts.

It doesn't hurt to learn at least the basics, at least. Though, why not use the usual ingredients? Didn't they have any available?

They did! And it isn't as if these ingredients are abnormal, just ones I haven't used much before. I wanted to experiment, try something new!

[The smell of food has summoned the wild Ammy! She wanders over, lifting her head to sniff along the counter, then sits at Lockon's feet. Looking a strange cross between intent and hopeful.

With tail wagging.]

[He looks down, noting the...dog? No, wolf. ...Wolf?]

Uh, hey there! ...You hungry?

[Ammy whuffed, wagging her tail even more. Seemed like that was a yes.]

[He reaches down to pat her on the head.] I'll...actually, how about you be my taste tester?

[...she'd probably eat anything that was in the pot, anyway. He takes a large spoon to ladle some of the soup into a bowl, placing it on the ground.]

Give it a moment to cool off so you don't burn your tongue.
