im not sure i can explain jimmy eat world's appeal either... i started listening to them literally because there was nothing else in the car to listen to (on a 20 hour drive). my only explanation is that when i first heard them i had a huge crush on a girl, and their lyrics and music were just the sappy, heartwarming, alllmost emo yet still happy sound i was searching for. but mike would be the person to ask about jew, he is/was way more into them than i.
