Just a cast away, and I am lost at sea oh

Hello everyone. Since I seem to be rich in confusion and poor in thought lately, I'll make myself a newsgirl of sorts and post the movie events happening in New Orleans this weekend.

July 15 & 16 - 2001: A Space Odyssey, 12:30 am @ the Prytania
July 15 & 16 - Pretty in Pink, 12:00 am @ Canal Place
July 16 - My Fair Lady, 2:00 pm @ the Saenger ( Read more... )

Office life seems to be just that, office life. The gossip never stops, even at home.
Talking about a movie or book only offers a conversational piece a few people will be interested in.
But what that new secretary is up...well, everyone working there can relate. It just sorta falls that way, and becomes deep habit.
I find the office stifling, and am very glad I got away from it. People can become boring very quickly when all they do is talk about the other people around you. D:

It is stifling. But aside from joining the military or seeking stardom, I don't see an alternative habitat. Perhaps an office with a common philanthropic purpose, such as PETA, would yield more humane personnel.

I would like richer conversation, yes. But I would also like to contribute to the changes I wish to see in the world and I'm as yet incapable of discovering that pathway. Rather, the specific fork that could be benefited by my personal strengths as a worker.

I wonder if it's really necessary to gain credibility through college when the need for activism in American society is so great. I want to be a part of that, even if only as a golden bricklayer running before the Dorothys of the world. The problem is, I have no sight of the Great Oz. =oT
