Day Two started with the Opening Ceremony led by Jensen, which ended up involving throwing/rolling bowls of small flashing LED-balls into the audience. Problem was, it kind of backfired and the fans started throwing them back towards the stage, meaning the guests got pelleted with them. Jensen got one down his shirt and soon decided enough was enough and got off the stage fast, lol.
First up for Saturday was autographs with Rich, Rob, Mark and Greyston - thankfully our Prophet passes got us put straight to the front of each line so we had no waiting at all. I have a canvas SPN bag that I’ve been trying to get everyone to sign, so that was what I had autographed this year… unfortunately, this is the second con that I’ve missed getting Jared’s signature on it, so will have to wait until DallasCon in September :P.
After the autos, we headed back to the panel room, for Tahmoh’s solo panel. Seeing that he didn’t have loads of people waiting to ask questions, I decided to take th plunge and ask my first ever question in a panel at a con. I told him that since JIB5, I’ve now seen all of Battlestar Galactica and although I’m not normally into space sci-fi, I enjoyed it because it was military-based and I work with the military. I asked how you prepare for a role involving a particular career - for example, how you play a military officer convincingly. He told us that they actually went through a short military boot camp to get into the mindset of an officer.
Felicia’s panel was up next, the beginning of which involved a random ballet dance thing with Tahmoh :P.
I like Felicia because she feels like one of us and is relatable - again she had some great answers about fandom and female roles.
Up next was supposed to be a J2 panel, but as we had no Jared, it just became a Jensen solo panel instead. I took pictures of about the first 20 minutes, but as the staff had strategically placed a guitar on stage and someone asked him to play something, I started filming the panel from when he picked up the guitar… though he refused to sing anything until the end.
The panel was good - a typical Jensen panel really, with thoughtful answers to questions and some heartfelt words about Jared, though there were a few silly moments too. I took photos for most of it, until he picked up the guitar, and then I filmed the rest.

Straight after Jensen’s panel, we had a Meet and Greet with Osric - to which he showed up dressed in cosplay from Assassin’s Creed, which was very well done. Again, it was a very casual, friendly M&G, with him talking about how JIB was a great con because it was the only one the guests actually got to hang out and have dinner together and just chill. He talked about his first music experiences (Backstreet Boys, then Linkin Park) and his cosplays.
After Osric we had our M&G with Richard, which was also very casual - he asked us for feedback about the Cocktail Party format and also went around the room asking our names, nationalities, jobs and whether we preferred Dean, Sam or Cas (it was a mainly Dean room).
From Richard’s M&G we headed for more autographs - from Jensen and Felicia this time. Again, we were taken right to the front of the queue and as I was shuffling sideways across the front of Jensen’s table (behind the person who was getting an autograph), he looked up and grinned at me. I smiled back a bit sheepishly in a ‘don’t mind me, I’m just trying to get through’ fashion :P. The autograph was over quickly and I didn’t really talk to him other than to ask him to sign the bag. I popped over to Felicia’s table and she complimented the bag and wrote ‘Carry On’ on it - a play on bother Carry On Wayward Son and the fact that I ‘carry’ the bag :P.
As the M&Gs had run late and then we’d got the autographs, we’d actually missed Jason and Greyston’s panel, though it wasn’t a big deal as they weren’t guests we were really anxious to see on stage. We made it back into the panel room for Richard’s panel though, which was fun, as always. We got a couple of stories from Tough Mudder during the weekend from a few of the guests, and Richard also ended up signing a petition for Jared to grow his hair back to the length of season 8 :P.
We had a quick break for lunch (Pot Noodles, chocolate and an apple in the hotel room :P) and then it was back to the con for our last 2 Meet and Greets. They were running late so everything was a bit rushed.
First up was Jensen’s M&G - funny enough, it was much less casual and more serious than the others, probably partly because we had extra people in the M&G who had changed from the Jared one to a Jensen one and also because it was Jensen and the atmosphere was more electrically charged with people more eager to ask questions than the others.
Just before the M&G started, we got a surprise visitor - Misha walked in, then stood around chatting for a couple of minutes before he was ushered out of the room again, before finally Jensen arrived with Bob Singer in tow :). Bob sat next to Jensen for the whole M&G which was pretty cool. There was a bit of a detour at first because when Jensen came in, Daniela grabbed his hand and dragged him to the other end of the room to give him a gift in a box (he was all like, 'what the hell are you doing?') - we think it was Grappa :P.
So, the M&G started with a couple of questions and a bit of chit-chat. I can’t remember the questions that were asked now though (hopefully someone else will have a better memory than me). I had a question and a bit of a fun fact for him, which I was dying to get into the M&G (I had 2 M&Gs with him at cons last year but didn’t get the chance to ask a question at either of them) - there were a few people with hands up to ask questions, so I was careful to make sure I was ready to go for it when the opportunity came :). Luckily, he nodded to me about halfway through the M&G and so I told him about how I’d just spent 4 months in the South Atlantic Ocean and that in the main town of Stanley in the Falklands, there’s a bar called Deano’s which is strangely enough located at the crossroads of John Street and Dean Street! He asked if I had a picture, which I did - a print-out from home - and so I gave it to him. Both he and Bob were pretty amazed (if I remember correctly, he asked Bob if he’d known about it already, which he hadn’t) and then he asked if he could keep the picture (of course I said yes) :P.
Anyway, after that said that since my job involves a lot of public speaking, I asked him a question about how he prepares himself for interviews and being in the public eye. I don’t remember his exact answer but it was something along the lines of never really being prepared, but that maybe it’s part of an actor’s personality, and that by doing something you love, it’s easy to talk about it in front of people. My experience isn’t quite the same, since I didn’t have a choice with my job… I have to stand up and brief military pilots whether I like what I’m talking about or not :P. I was glad to get my question in, but I got a bit flustered when I asked and could feel my face getting hot - I hope it didn’t show too much! Thankfully after the anxiety of getting my question in, I could relax and enjoy the rest of the M&G.
After Jensen, we should have had a M&G with Jared, then with Misha, but as Jared wasn’t here we had planned to use the time between them to get our Jensen photos and Rob/Richard photos… however, because they were running late, there wasn’t going to be much time to get that all in and so we caught Daniela and asked how we could get our Rich/Rob photos since they were due to finish during our Misha M&G - she said she would get them to wait for us afterwards so we could have them taken :).
Misha’s M&G was fun as well - again we had a couple of extra people in there because of Jared’s M&Gs being cancelled - though I can’t really remember what we talked about :P.
Afterwards, we attempted to get our Rich/Rob photos, but were told that they were long over, so we went to the con reception to ask what to do about it. In the end, I exchanged mine for a Felicia and Osric double photo and then we went to Jensen’s single photo ops. Daniela saw us there and asked us if we got our Rich/Rob photos and we said no, we missed them and exchanged them for others! Apparently there was some miscommunication and we should have found someone to sort them out for us. Funny enough, during this time, Jensen was waiting for us for the photos, but we were still talking to Daniela, so he was just standing there watching us :P. Because he was waiting and we were holding him up, it was a bit of a rush to get photos done - we had decided to get one with my roommates and me, and one single. We did the three of us first, and then the solo ones. I hadn’t been sure what pose to do, but in the end I decided on a Blue Steel pose, which I really like.
When we finished with the Jensen photos, we went back to the reception to find out what to do about our photo ops now and then Daniela came over and just gave us a Rich and Rob photo op for free, to make up for missing out on things with Jared (since his M&G was included in the pass and we lost it), and then she told us to come back when they were doing the quartet photos (Jensen, Misha, Rich and Rob) to have it taken :).
So, all that sorted out, we headed back to the panel room for an afternoon of panels :). First was Jim and Rob, followed by Mark and Osric, though we missed part of the latter due to getting our Rich/Rob photos done. We were ushered into the photo op room just after Jensen, Misha, Rich and Rob had walked in for the quartet photos, so we ended up having the photo taken with Misha and Jensen standing just outside the frame :P. Since we'd had an ongoing joke with Rob about him thinking he knew my roommate, we decided to make fun of it in the photo op:
When we came into Mark and Osric’s panel though, Osric was digging himself into a hole by talking about how the guys mess around on set and that Jared can be a bit unprofessional at times. He wasn’t being mean, but Mark kept pushing and got Osric all flustered about calling all the cast unprofessional, lol.
Our Rich/Rob photo was good - we decided to have all 3 of us in the photo and because of the joke with Rob about him knowing my roommate, we had him hug her with the rest of us standing by going, ‘WTF?’.
Next panel up was Jensen’s Saturday afternoon panel, which was good, and I got it all on video rather than taking photos :). About halfway through the panel, the staff got Misha and Bob Singer up on stage and we ended up with a trio panel instead, which was really cool. As Misha and Bob were due on stage right after Jensen, they stayed on stage for quite a while.

The final panel of the day should have been Jared, but instead, they finished with Misha and Bob, which continued in a similar vein to the end of Jensen's panel, but just without Jensen :P. I should say here that I saw nothing but love expressed for Bob being at the convention and he was given lots of cheers and even a standing ovation during the panels. I saw later on Twitter that there was a lot of hate going on for him and the writers, but I experienced nothing of the sort at the con and from what I could see, there was no hate expressed towards him in person.
It was quite handy not having Jared's panel though as it meant we had 3 hours free for dinner and to get ready for Jason’s concert. The concert in the evening was good, though not quite as special as Jason’s concert at A14 (which had special guests Jensen and Tim). Jason did say that Jensen would be at Jailbreak on Monday night though, so we weren’t too disappointed.
