Wasn't it great :) Makes me sad though to think it will be back to all the angst again now. I do love angst but just not all the time. I agree about Dean's upbeat mood being out of character as that's exactly what I thought.
It was great :). I've watched it 3 times now and want to watch again! It's been a long time since I felt that way about a SPN episode.
The sad thing is that I used to feel the same way about almost every single SPN episode - I used to get excited about watching it with my parents later on, waiting for their reactions to it - but other than Fan Fiction last year, I haven't had that reaction to an episode since probably season 5.
It's awful to think that this was probably just a one-off and the rest of the episodes will probably just go back to how they normally are without all the magic of this episode :(.
Let's hope that they listen to the reactions to this episodes and take note - we can hope :) But's its episodes like this that keep me addicted to the show, I will never not watch it because every so often, even though its not as often as it used to be, gems like this come along and make it all worth while.
"how can we make Carver understand that this is the kind of brotherly scene that makes the show good, not the stupid drama between them?!" Maybe he'll read some of the reactions to this episode and realise this is what the show's been missing. After all, there was still plenty of action - hell, and plenty of comedy too. But it had so much more depth than the recent seasons have been offering and I think as someone commented on my reaction post, that J2 felt it too. Their performances felt so much more real than in so many of the recent episodes, it was really noticeable.
I hope he does, and I hope the other writers take note as well. I just have the horrible feeling that this was it for good episodes and that the other writers will just do what they normally do and not think about how this episode was written.
At first, I thought this episode would be campy and bad, but then seeing the reactions from J2, you could just tell they loved it and loved filming it, so that gave me confidence that it would be a great episode :).
yeah, I'm not hopeful for the rest of the season but if necessary I'll just keep re-watching this... Having said that, I know Jim Michaels saw the massive positive reaction on Twitter and it might give him some food for thought. The ratings were up too.
It's been so long since I've enjoyed a Supernatural episode that much! It was nearing perfection! I loved everything about it, the cinemytography, the humour, the plot, the brotherly moments, the music, and Cas' phone call... I have a mix of that Rob Seger song and 'I Shot The Sheriff' in my head since yesterday and I don't even feel bad about it! lol
Me too... I'm dying for more episodes like this. Just have a bad feeling that we won't get any :(.
I love that Bob Seger now song too - had never heard it until Thursday, but it was the perfect driving music for the 9 hours I spent in the car on Friday and Saturday!
