OOC Why doesn't Kasumi remember anyone?
To begin with, Kasumi has a tendency to deny information doesn’t fit into her view of the world; she actively misremembers an event that doesn’t agree with her- if she remembers it at all. Add the following three events and you equal retrograde amnesia specific to the DDD community. One: her forceful denial of experiencing death, which put her mind in a precarious state. Two: the realization that her boyfriend, Tatsumi, was not coming back caused a large drain on her emotional state. Three: the loss of access to the community after the above left her no way to gain closure. She couldn’t seek help on her own world due to the stigma of mental health, and the fact she would sound crazy no matter what she said.
In the following weeks Kasumi craved a change-so she cut her hair short. It was like releasing a heavy weight from her shoulders; she felt so much better she couldn’t even remember what was bothering her. What had she been doing for the past two years besides housework? Why, nothing at all. Nabiki took her computer in order to avoid further antagonation of Kasumi’s mental state. A year later, Nabiki brought it back, saying something about typing practice. The place hadn’t come back for her, so why should it com back for Kasumi?
Short version: Kasumi lost her memory of the community in defense of its absense. She has had a year to calm down and begin her life again. Pity there are blank spots in her memory- as well as regained access to the community.
To fix it, she has to remember. I'm working on how.
At some point she will- she just won’t remember everyone. Kasumi will not remember most of her CR that are no longer at the community. Past CR she’s talked to, she will remember you at some point o7. After finals are over, maybe.
