[CHARACTER INFO]
CHARACTER NAME: Tensa Zangetsu, and because he's a part of Ichigo's soul, he won't want a superhero name.
FANDOM: Bleach manga
CHRONOLOGY: Taken from the end of chapter 411
CLASS: A bit ambiguous, but since he's the "better" part of Ichigo's soul, he'd be a hero.
SUPERHERO NAME: N/A
ALTER EGO: N/A

BACKGROUND:
Tensa Zangetsu's history is the same as Ichigo Kurosaki's. From the moment Ichigo regained his shinigami powers, and learned his zanpakutou's name, Zangetsu came into existence. The realtionship between a shinigami, and their zanpakutou is considered a sacred one in Soul Society. The zanpakutou is the embodiment of the shinigami's power. Usually they first appear as a relatively normal-looking katana, or wakizashi. However, as the shinigami learns to wield their power, they also learn to hear the voice of their Zanpakutou.

After the Soul Society arc, there is a long period of time where we do not see what is going on in Ichigo's inner world, but thanks to the nature of how a shinigami, and zanpakutou's relationship we know that Zangetsu was aware of what was happening to, and around Ichigo. During the Hueco Mundo arc, especially, Ichigo is almost solidly using his bankai from his fight with Grimmjow, and then through his fight with Ulquiorra. The same battle that "killed" Ichigo, allowing his inner hollow to take over, and turned Ichigo into what appears to be some hybrid form of arrancar. Even then, Ichigo is still carrying Tensa Zangetsu, and actually displays a few new abilities with the blade that had never been seen before. However, once Ulquiorra breaks one of Ichigo's horns, that mask, and form break, leaving Ichigo once again in his shinigami form. Though he had no memory of what he had done, since it was not Ichigo's consciousness that was dominant.
After Ulquiorra faded away - he states it is because he used up too much energy in the fight with Ichigo, and asks Ichigo to kill him before he fades entirely - Ichigo is...not quite right. After all that has happened to him, and to his nakama, though, it's no surprise Ichigo would be dealing with a bit of shell-shock.

With his energy restored by Unohana-taichou on the way, Ichigo decides that he has to defeat Aizen with one strike to avoid seeing Kyouka Suigetsu's Shikai. Upon exiting the Garganta, he arrives behind Aizen and strikes at his neck, but is blocked by a barrier. Aizen greets Ichigo, telling him that it is ludicrous to think that he would enter battle without putting a defense on his biggest blind spot. Ichigo thinks that he was careless not to use Hollowfication out of fear that he could not control it. Aizen guesses Ichigo's thoughts and mocks him for them, insisting Ichigo use his mask and that he will show Ichigo how conceited those thoughts are. It's the first time since his training with the vizards that Ichigo has shown himself to be afraid of his own inner hollow, and what it is capable of. Due to Aizen's goading, however, Ichigo dons his vizard mask ( though the markings have changed to look more like the mask that covered Ichigo's face when his hollow was in control the last time ) and attacks Aizen again.
As Aizen evades another attack attempt, he asks why Ichigo is fighting him, when he has no reason to hate him as he can tell from Ichigo's face that all his friends are fine. As such it is impossible for Ichigo to truly hate Aizen and that he is fighting only out of a sense of responsibility. Aizen tells Ichigo that powerless comrades cannot be anything but restrictions. Ichigo begins to waiver but Komamura-taichou appears beside him and tells Ichigo not to be taken in by Aizen's provocation. He tells Ichigo to be at ease as the Shinigami will not let him see Aizen's Shikai, something the Vizard resolve to help do as well and united with the Shinigami against Aizen.
Yet, despite the combined efforts of the shinigami, and the vizards attacking Aizen at the same time, not one was able to stop him. Yamamoto-soutaichou ( leader of the shinigami ) even sacrificed himself in a bid to stop Aizen. Yet, for all the massed strengths aimed against him, Aizen survived again, and again until the next moment Ichigo tried to attack him.
As Ichigo continues his attack, Aizen blocks his blade and tells him that was his final chance to kill him. Ichigo points out that he has injured Aizen, but the wound begins to close up, causing Ichigo to think that it is high-speed regeneration. Aizen tells him that it is not high-speed regeneration, questioning the belief that he would turn himself into a Hollow. He reveals that it is instead a tool instinctively protecting its master, and that the Hōgyoku is embedded in his body, surprising Ichigo. Aizen compliments Ichigo's reiatsu, saying that he has grown, just as he had planned. He lists various important moments in the development of Ichigo's power and tells him that all of his battles have taken place exactly as he desired
As Ichigo tries to question him, Aizen asks if it was just a coincidence that he was attacked by Renji, Kenpachi and Byakuya and if Ichigo's victories over them were his own doing, prompting Ichigo to attack Aizen again. The renegade captain, however, blocks the attack and then grabs Tensa Zangetsu with his bare hand as Ichigo swings again. Aizen tells him not to disappoint him, as he should be capable of much more. When Ichigo says that he does not believe him, as his claims on the Soukyoku Hill and now do not match up, Aizen asks if he believes he told the truth when he was defecting. Ichigo, obviously upset, asks Aizen when he came to the conclusion that he would be a perfect subject for his research. Aizen replies that he has known about Ichigo from the day he was born, thus neatly highlighting the doubts in Ichigo's mind about himself, his inner hollow, and indeed; who Ichigo even is. However, Aizen is interrupted by Isshin Kurosaki ( Ichigo's father ), who appears on the battlefield between his son and Aizen, stating that Aizen "talks too much".

Even after Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi Shihouin, and Isshin Kurosaki all attempt to stop Aizen, with Gin Ichimaru distracting Ichigo, they are all three defeated. Ichigo is now thoroughly shaken by what Aizen seems to be capable of.
After the last assault from Gin, Ichigo is left winded and his mask shattered. Gin once again mocks Ichigo's failing resolve, noting that back then when they crossed blades in Soul Society, Ichigo was much fiercer than he is now. No longer concerned with him, Gin plainly tells Ichigo to run away. While Ichigo, distracted, turns to watch Aizen's fight, Gin remarks that Ichigo should not turn away when he's standing right next to him. He then tells Ichigo that he is no longer a warrior, Shinigami, Hollow or even a person anymore and asks Ichigo if he thinks that he can beat Aizen now that Aizen has beaten Isshin, Kisuke and Yoruichi. He offers to allow Ichigo to run, saying that he has lost interest in him and Aizen will be disappointed to see him as he is. Gin finishes by saying that Ichigo understands Aizen's power and draws his Zanpakutou to finish off Ichigo, but he is stopped by Aizen. Ichigo notices Kisuke, Yoruichi, and Isshin lying on the ground and when Aizen orders Gin to open a Senkaimon to Soul Society, Ichigo tells him to wait, but falls silent as Aizen's body begins to shed his sleek new form as his "incubation" is complete. Unconcerned with Ichigo at the moment, Aizen tells him he will "devour" him after they have destroyed Karakura Town and leaves with Gin to Soul Society.

Frightened, and confused with all that has happened, Ichigo is frozen in indecision, but then Isshin manages to get up. Ichigo rushes to help him, but does not move toward the senkaimon, even as Isshin demands that Ichigo get the gate open so they could follow Aizen. Ichigo plainly states it is absolutely impossible to defeat Aizen, and he knows it. Isshin yells at his son asking him how he knows if it is impossible or not. Ichigo responds back that they both know there is no way they can beat a monster with reiatsu like Aizen's. Isshin then realizes that Ichigo truly does understand Aizen's powerful reiatsu, unlike him and everyone else. He then tells his son to accompany him but when Ichigo doesn't move it prompts Isshin to ask if he's coming or not. He then asks what Ichigo will do instead. He yells at his son again asking if he is just going to stand there and cry about how he couldn't protect anything, thus shaming Ichigo into following his father through the senkaimon.

As they are running through the Dangai, Isshin stops Ichigo, who asks why as he thought they were in a hurry. Isshin responds that he can't sense the Koutotsu. Isshin explains that Shinigami technically cannot do anything to it, but apparently Aizen has. He then states that it is convenient for now as the precipice world is cut off from time and space and since the Koutotsu isn't there to move them out, they now have a perfect place for Isshin to teach him. When Ichigo questions him as to what he plans to teach him. Isshin responds that he plans on teaching him the "final" Getsuga Tenshou. As it turns out, however, it is not Isshin teaching Ichigo, but Zangetsu once again.
However, after everything that has happened since Ichigo even spoke to his zanpakutou spirit last, the spirit of the sword has every right to be put out with Ichigo for the needless battles, and the mistakes Ichigo has made along the way.
When Ichigo does manage to meditate well enough to enter his inner world, he finds it to be completely different from the last time he saw it. For starters, it is entirely underwater. Ichigo struggles to breathe and upon seeing the surface, he swims toward it, but is pulled back down by an unseen figure that throws him into a nearby building. The figure tells him to calm down. Ichigo stares at a hooded cloaked figure who tells him that it is painful to watch but he should be able to breathe. Ichigo calms down and realizes the mysterious stranger is correct and he can breathe. He then asks the person who he is, as only old man Zangetsu is supposed to be there. The stranger criticizes Ichigo for talking to the one who taught him to breathe so rudely. He then pulls out the sword form of Tensa Zangetsu, much to Ichigo's surprise, and pulls off his hood, revealing himself to be a young man. He tells Ichigo he is not surprised that he does not recognize this form, as this is the first time Ichigo has ever come to his inner world in bankai. He then moves to attack Ichigo, who blocks the attack. Ichigo asks the stranger if he is Zangetsu. The stranger denies it and asks him what his Bankai is called, identifying himself as Tensa Zangetsu as he continues his assault. As they continue to fight, Ichigo puts some distance between them and tells Tensa Zangetsu to wait as he did not come there to fight this time. Ichigo explains that he just wants to ask him a question. Tensa Zangetsu reveals that he already knows that Ichigo wishes to ask him about the Final Getsuga Tenshou. Ichigo is surprised that he knows what he was going to ask and wonders if he heard the conversation he and his father had outside. Tensa Zangetsu moves to attack again prompting Ichigo to yell at him and ask what is he doing. Tensa Zangetsu tells him that he cannot teach him such a thing. Ichigo simply states that without it he cannot protect Karakura Town. Tensa Zangetsu quickly moves in front of Ichigo and grabs his arm and asks why he should care about what happens to what Ichigo wants to protect, surprising Ichigo. He then throws Ichigo into the buildings below. Tensa Zangetsu then states that Ichigo shouldn't misunderstand, and that what he wants to protect and what Ichigo wants to protect are not the same.
While fighting Tensa Zangetsu, Ichigo asks what he means, stating that he believed that Zangetsu would lend his strength to Ichigo for Ichigo to be able to fight his battles. As Ichigo demands to know what his motives are, Tensa Zangetsu yells at him to look at the inner world they are in. He shouts that Ichigo's inner world has changed from the hope-filled skyscrapers into a replica of the small, shabby Karakura Town, and that although the constant raining has stopped, everything has been submerged in this sea.
Tensa Zangetsu explains that this all occurred because Ichigo "ceased to walk forward and fell into despair". Tensa Zangetsu appears in front of Ichigo suddenly and pierces his hand into Ichigo's chest. He tells him that he will not let Ichigo stay the way he is, and that he is going to pull out the source of his despair. Tensa Zangetsu proceeds to rip out the "source of despair" and tosses it behind him. When Ichigo looks at it, he sees his inner Hollow, with his Bankai activated. However, his inner Hollow also has long white hair, and a black mask with horns and white lines vertically stretching across his eyes. He greets Ichigo, who stares at him speechlessly. His inner Hollow proceeds to remove his mask, asking Ichigo if he recognizes him. Ichigo is shocked upon seeing his face, believing that he already defeated him in their last battle. Ichigo says that he should have disappeared but his inner Hollow reiterates that he told Ichigo that if Ichigo wanted to control his Hollow's powers then he must stay alive. Tensa Zangetsu also states that Ichigo defeated Ulquiorra in that form, and tells him that it is the form he feared where his sanity is overwhelmed by his own destructive power and Ichigo cannot Hollowify properly. Ichigo asks Zangetsu if he must fight again against his Hollow self but Tensa Zangetsu says no. No, because both are Ichigo's power, Ichigo must fight both one-on-one, and they begin to fuse while Ichigo stares in confusion. The fused form of Zangetsu and Ichigo's inner Hollow emerges and tells Ichigo that they are two parts of the same being and they are his power.

And this is the last we have seen of this merged form of Tensa Zangetsu to date ( chap. 411 )

PERSONALITY:

Because of the way Bleach, and thus Ichigo's mind, and soul have been portrayed, the three-sides relationship between Ichigo, Zangetsu, and his inner hollow is easier explained by an excerpt of Sigmund Freud;

The Id is the core portion of the tripartite model of the human psyche; Id, Ego and Superego. The Id lives in the utter darkness of the unconscious; above it, and in part born from it, is the Ego, the partially conscious realm, which we recognize as our own identity; above the ego, also in part unconscious, is the Superego with its severe moral whip, lashing at the Ego from on high with guilt.

The Ego is like a rider who is attempting to rein in the greater strength of the powerful horse (the Id) while using the strength of the horse itself (in part) to do it. The rider cannot be separated from his horse, yet is impelled to lead the horse to where it wants to go. So the Ego must translate the will of the Id into action as if that action were its own.

Above the horse and rider flies the attached Superego, often demanding an abrupt turn or halt. The Ego, sandwiched between, aware of the outside reality, and the only part of the trio to actually respond to experience, has to satisfy both unconscious forces. The Id is unseen, hidden, indwelling, shapeless and contains all passions and instinctual energy. It is that which is pulsating at birth and houses all innate needs and bodily demands. It is from the Id that the Ego takes its shape and parts of its "horse power" or energy. But the Id doesn't know what it wants. It simply wants. And it has two primary drives: libido and aggression.

The Id screams up from the basement of the mind to the Ego, which attempts to rein it in with rational thought, to hold it steady and gratify its demands with one eye on the outside world. The Id knows nothing of the Out There; no light has formed an idea of a "neighbor" or a "parent" or anything external to its incessant bodily demands. It bleats and yells and surges through dreams and whispers to the consciousness of the Ego via images and obsessive behavior and slips of the tongue and constant internal demands. This is how it makes its presence known.

Now, if one applies this to Bleach, the "pile of instincts" that hollows are said to be would easily identify ichigo's inner hollow as a representation of the Id; all passion, no rationality. Only bent on fighting, winning, and with no sense of self-control whatsoever. Then, Ichigo himself is the Ego; the consciousness that deals with the outside world, who tries to balance responsibility with desires, and must try to find equilibrium between the Id, and the Super Ego. The Super Ego being represented by Zangetsu/Tensa Zangetsu. Tensa Zangetsu who is calm, and collected, yet still attempting to keep Ichigo on the proper path to not only keep him alive, but also to help Ichigo find some form of inner peace.

Tensa Zangetsu, and Zangetsu are one, and the same. They are both the calm, rational, reasonable parts of Ichigo. The one to help Ichigo stay alive in combat, to lend Ichigo greater strength, and to do that without demanding that Ichigo fight to use it every single time he needs it. However, Ichigo does come to abuse this relationship a little. In Soul Society, a shinigami would have a very intimate relationship with their zanpakutou, but Ichigo has not so much as spoken to his zanpakutou since rescuing Rukia. Ichigo had not even seen Tensa Zangetsu's form before his father told him how to willfully enter his inner world. Because of this, Zangetsu is understandably put out with his young charge. He is frustrated with Ichigo, more than angry, though. Frustrated that Ichigo is so confused, and has - up until this point - merely tried to push down, and not think about the inner hollow. Obviously, as Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra shows, Ichigo can not do that without consequence.

Tensa Zangetsu knows this. As he says to Ichigo " I know your soul completely, for we are one. There are no secrets between us." Tensa Zangetsu almost "loves" Ichigo, though in his own way. It's the relationship between a sword, and it's wielder - Ichigo gives him purpose, and drive. In return, Tensa Zangetsu gives Ichigo his power, and takes the hits that Ichigo wouldn't normally survive. Because of this, when Ichigo is happy, Tensa Zangetsu is happy. When Ichigo's resolve is so deeply shaken, Tensa Zangetsu will resort to whatever he needs to, including tough love, to ensure Ichigo finds his strength of self, again.
For himself, Tensa Zangetsu prefers a peaceful existence. He states that he is not fond of concrete, and glass, and after living in a totally submerged city, he craves sunlight, and the hope it inspires in Ichigo more than he can bear. Zangetsu prefers more lush, natural surroundings, like bright, sunny skies, green forests and animals. Oddly enough, Ichigo's Inner Hollow professes to demand the same things. His reason for fighting with Ichigo is different from the hollow's; which are all self serving. Zangetsu does not wish to leave Ichigo; he merely wishes to see Ichigo achieve his true potential and to fight as the same partnership they had before Ichigo's resolve wavered, and he let his fears get the better of him. Zangetsu just wants to be a zanpakutou, and to fight for a good, strong master, again.

POWER:

* Bankai Mastery: Tensa Zangetsu has absolute mastery over bankai. All of Ichigo's attacks, and abilities he learned from Zangetsu, so it follows that Tensa Zangetsu would haver perfect mastery over them all. In the city, Tensa Zangetsu retains the use of Getsuga Tenshou and that can be used in the same manners as Ichigo uses it, but can be used in an enhanced form. When used in Bankai, these potent blasts are black with a red outline and their path can be controlled, with explosively augmented power and speed. Tensa Zangetsu, like Ichigo, can also keep Getsuga Tenshou within his sword to augment his swings. All the power of Ichigo's bankai is also compressed it into a small, condensed form. Then, the power of the Bankai is used to perform high-speed combat. The new speed is so great, that it also enhances Shunpo ("Flash Step") prowess and can create dozens of afterimages to confuse his opponent.

* Merged Form: Tensa Zangetsu, and the inner hollow ( "Shiro" hollowest in CnC ) have the unique relationship of both being the source of Ichigo's power. When Ichigo needs to use his bankai, Tensa Zangetsu will change his form from that of a teenaged boy, into the recognizable ebony daito that Ichigo uses in the manga, and become Ichigo's actual sword once again. This along with the change in Ichigo's outfit means that Tensa Zangetsu is once again residing inside ichigo's soul, and will stay there until Ichigo releases his bankai. And as Shiro must merge with Ichigo for Ichigo to be able to use his vizard mask, so too much all three merge for Ichigo to use his maximum power.
Tensa Zangetsu, and Shiro could also merge as they do in the manga for training purposes, but Tensa Zangetsu, while he will work with Shiro if he must, would prefer not to have any more to do with the hollow than absolutely necessary.

*Reiatsu Sense: Unlike Ichigo, who is terrible at sensing reiatsu, Tensa Zangetsu is quite adept at sensing other spiritual power. However, when it concerns Ichigo, or Shiro, Tensa Zangetsu can sense both of them even from several miles away.

COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE:

[Voice; Translated from Japanese ]

Good afternoon. I am not certain if I am using this device correctly, but I do not know whom else to ask, or what else I may do to find my master before something happens to him. It is my first experience of being "outside" as it were. I recognize some landmarks from his experiences, but I have never walked, or needed to navigate on my own before. I...do not know what to do without him...

[ There's the soft sound of a throat being cleared. As though Tensa Zangetsu is not accustomed to his voice being heard quite so clearly, and just realized he may have said too much. ]

I can sense him, but there are so many other strange spiritual signatures here that I do not think he can hear my voice? My master is Kurosaki Ichigo, and it is very important that I find him in all haste. Please.

LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE:

Tensa Zangetsu knew the moment Ichigo's resolve began to crack.

He had never been fond of the sideways cityscape that made up Ichigo's inner world. He wasn't fond of concrete, steel, and endless stretches of glass. But it was bright, alive, so full of hope. The hopes, and dreams of a boy on the cusp of manhood. And so Zangetsu found what peace he could in that vertiginous world; a patch of light - the sunlight that would make the glass, and steel glitter like a great, towering cathedral of light. Or take long walks up, and down the skyscrapers, seeing how the slight shadows here, and there were populated with Ichigo's memories; the ghosts of the past.

...And then Orihime was kidnapped.

He knew it because a ringing silence fell inside Ichigo's inner world when the aged leader of the shinigami forbade Ichigo from following her to Heuco Mundo. Like the deep breath before the storm. And a storm began to gather far away, along the horizon. A storm made up of dark anger, the niggling sense that Ichigo had let his nakama down, and the rebellious nature Ichigo always carried inside himself coalescing into dark clouds as Ichigo made the decision to go to Hueco Mundo with, or without the support of Soul Society.

Concern creased the zanpakutou spirit's features. His calm countenace marred with worry for his master. And as the storm moved closer, and closer, Tensa Zangetsu tried again, and again to call out to Ichigo. To warn him of the danger within.

But Ichigo could not hear him, and after a time, Tensa Zangetsu became as involved in the ensuing battles as his master was. For it was the tiny bankai spirit who was taking the hits that ichigo could not survive by proxy. When Ichigo bled, Tensa Zangetsu bled. When Ichigo used Getsuga Tenshou, Tensa Zangetsu felt his energy drain a drop at a time.

But against the Cuarta Espada, Ichigo was losing. No matter how much Tensa Zangetsu poured more, and more of his power into Ichigo's attacks, into diverting reiatsu to slow blood flow, to try to keep his wielder alive through crushing blows one after another, Ichigo's resolve was slipping. Still, they fought, and once more Tensa Zangetsu tried to call out to Ichigo, make the boy hear his own will, again...but Ichigo could not hear his zanpakutou above the roar of nacerous green power.

The storm broke when Ulquiorra had Ichigo held aloft on the dome of Las Noches. Fear inundated everything, and the rain came down. Tensa Zangetsu clung to his master's hand, bleeding, battered, and screaming for Ichigo to move! He must! If he didn't, they would die! And as the rains fell, and the water began to rise, Tensa Zangetsu wept.
The pain of a Cero Oscuras fired at point blank range, searing flesh, and bone in a grotesque hole through Ichigo's chest stole Tensa Zangetsu's breath. He stopped screaming. He stopped moving. Laid out in a battered pile of black, and rain-diluted blood, the zanpakutou's voice murmured Ichigo's name. A murmur that was matched by Orihime calling out to Ichigo in the outside world. Ichigo heard her, and he reached inside himself, reached right past Tensa Zangetsu, all the way down to the dark corners of himself.

The hollow answered. And the water rose.

Without Ichigo's will to drive Tensa Zangetsu, and to keep the hollow in check, Tensa Zangetsu felt himself merging with the base, instinctual drive to fight, to win. The zanpakutou would have screamed his sobs aloud had the tears not been swallowed up by the ocean of despair drowning Ichigo's inner world.

The irony, and serendipity of Ulquiorra - Ichigo's enemy - breaking the hollow's hold over Ichigo was not lost on Tensa Zangetsu. Though, now, the zanpakutou floated in a submerged city. A watery world of cold, muted pressure. Despair had taken hold of ichigo, and there was nothing Tensa Zangetsu could do about it.

Floating in that world, he could only hear the mocking words of Aizen. Of the doubt that plagued Ichigo's soul. He could only see how the hopeful skyscrapers were crumbling, washed away with the tide to only leave a pale copy of that tiny, limited town that Ichigo had been born in. Suspended in despair, the zanpakutou could hardly reach his master. He tried to give Ichigo his power, but that deep despair muted him. Muted the whole world as water will mute all sound to the human ear.

So much pain. So much sadness...but when Ichigo actually entertained the idea of not saving Karakura - of not saving his friends, and his family caught there - Tensa Zangetsu felt such anger at his master. Such anger that Ichigo was so afraid of the power he had reached for so desperately that his resolve lay in pieces across this marine landscape.

...And now the boy had the nerve to come here, and demand still more power from him? From the zanpakutou who's voice he did not hear, from the one who had given everything he could to try, and keep the boy alive? How dare he! How dare Ichigo try to take on more power without setting his soul in order first!
No. No, Tensa Zangetsu would not stand for it. He would not let Ichigo keep taking that headlong plunge into damnation. He would make his master see.

"I won't let you remain this way.
Right here, and now...I'm going to pull out the source of your despair!"

FINAL NOTES ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:

Bleach wiki's explanation of what a zanpakutou is.
Because in CnC Ichigo, and his inner hollow are played by two seperate people, it seemed logical to apply to play Tensa Zangetsu as a seperate character as well. If allowed in, Tensa Zangetsu would have a very close relationship with both Ichigo, and Shiro because all three are, in essence, the same being. However, Tensa Zangetsu would be an excellent foil for a lot of the "hero" type characters, and thus I would have great fun with playing him as having his own human body outside of Ichigo's. I see Tensa Zangetsu as being able to manifest a copy of Ichigo's bankai sword ( the black daito ) for purposes of self-defense, but when Ichigo uses his bankai Tensa Zangetsu would turn into a sword, and be Ichigo's sword, literally, once again.
