The Gates to Heaven are... well... surprisingly mundane. At least the ones Tenpou prefers to use are. They're not even gates, really, just a room which somehow connects Heaven to the lower realms. Tenpou could probably explain the physics (or lack thereof) behind it, but few people would ever want to get him started on such a topic ( Read more... )

Caphriel glances around, an eyebrow raised. He has to admit, this heaven seems a lot nicer then his one. Mainly because he's not spending most of it arguing about harps, but that's another story entirely.

"Nice place," he says, calmly. He goes to light his cigarette with the stolen lighter, then stops, and turns to Tenpou.

"Uh... may I?"

That gets a raised eyebrow. "May you what? Smoke in Heaven?" Tenpou gestures with his own cigarette before leading the way toward his quarters.

He wanders after Tenpou, glancing around as he does. Then a thought strikes.

"Hang on... I thought you said you'd rebelled?"

Tenpou shrugs, taking a turn that leads away from the scenic walkways and further into the maze of corridors that make up the headquarters of the military. Now Heaven looks more utilitarian, though still like someone was working with a rather idealized view of the world in creating it.

"We did. I'm not from here. This is the Nexus version of the Heaven I come from. That's why it's so quiet. No guards, no petty bureaucrats, only rarely meddling bodhisattvas. There are advantages to being dead." He smirks back at Caphriel. "I could take you to a real version of Heaven, if you'd like to run into any of those, of course."
