I guess people who go through trauma that is beyond the pale are entitled to moments of bliss. Those who go through regular run-of-the-mill trauma are entitled to no such thing. Just like those who go through regular run-of-the-mill happiness aren’t due for pain. But if your happiness is above and beyond what’s expected, you’d better set yourself ( Read more... )

Heaven has experienced trauma beyond the pale. That's why she has Moses now. Yes, I realize this is an admission that she's happy with him. Have fun with that.

I haven't been through anything like that. I've had run of the mill trauma.

You can decide where this is going. I don't care.

Woah-I'd always thought that you had been through more than run of the mill trauma.
I thought what you were saying was that Moses hasn't been through bad stuff so he didn't deserve to be happy with Heaven and that you had been through bad stuff so you deserved to have her!

I'm not saying what I went through didn't suck. It did. But I'm not going to whine about it or act as though I'm the only person who's gone through things like that. That would be ignorant.

I didn't love the people who hurt me.

I don't know what Moses has been through. But I'd venture that he'd fall into the regular-run-of-the-mill-happiness catagory.

Although I prefer your interpretation, that's not where I was going.
