I don't know what it means either

Say something profound
do everything right, the first time
smile, not too big
be quiet, be embarrassed
be guilty, self-disciplined
don't get sick
why are you crying?
depend on me, but don't use me
keep busy, you missed it
sleep, wake, wake, sleep

does this just sound stupid (laura don't answer that)? or can we pretend its interesting?

i think its horseshit. (one word or two) If anyone really lived like this they'd be so paranoid they would stop waking up in the morning. Doing things wrong the first time is such a big part of everyone's life. Its how people learn from their mistakes, and how we become self-disciplined. Who doesnt love a huge smile. And, everyone gets sick and feels shitty, and no one wants to keep busy all the time. Plus, everyone gets used and uses in return. That's life. This is some creepy Twilight Zone/ GIver world where things seem to be perfect, but everyone is just nuts.

PS: IM reading About A Boy and its GRRREAT!

Is this a poem about your insecurities?

Not really, it's based on things that I've thought or I've had people tell me but it's supposed to be an exaggeration of them. It's supposed to be artsy not literal. I don't know if it came off that way or not.
