Acadia Update

Another big "thank you" to Acadia. Since they wrongfully took my account to collections (denying my payment in order to take me to collections under the pretenses that I was refusing payment), my credit is ruined for six years from that date. You'd probably need to talk to a lawyer and give them all the specifics to get a good answer. You might qualify for legal aid if you are eligible to make a case against Acadia or the collections agency.

You could start with legal info hotlines, they can't give legal advice, but they can tell you about the law, point you in the right direction and refer you to lawyers.

If you end up meeting with a lawyer, it would help if you have all the documentation organized and a timeline typed up.

Yeah. I'll keep that in mind about the legal thing. However, I do not have any documentation about the bit where they told me to take my 100 dollars and go buy some groceries because they wanted to take me to collections. I also don't have the documentation where she said that collections wouldn't do anything but ruin my credit, which is suitable punishment for being broke.
