We're on a slippery slope...if we kill someone who is "age challenged" for being in the womb...it won't be long before we kill the elderly ( Read more... )

An abortion takes up a lot fewer resources than a birth, I bet! Not to mention all the resources a human uses up in his/her lifetime.

I think anyone should be allowed to have an abortion whenever she wants. Every mother a willing mother! Every child a wanted child!

I agree.

When I was speaking of resources, I meant in comparison with birth control. Compared to giving birth, there is absolutely no contest. Giving birth is one of the most resource-hogging processes of human existence.

And, if it so happened that someone out there was using abortion as a primary form of birth control, I'd want her to be paid. She should be paid for every fetus, and every fetus should be used for stem-cell research.

PS. Screw this "age-challenged" BS.

Thing about it is, I bet there are at least a few people at your old church who have had abortions. It's really not uncommon for pro-lifers to get the procedure done, either on themselves or on their young daughters, out of a sense of exceptionalism. I've even heard stories of women berating doctors for being willing to perform the procedure on them. It's not a position with a basis in true moral high ground or integrity, ofttimes.

I really doubt that anyone at my old church had a proper abortion done. If they had it done, it was with a coat hanger in a back alley. And, it was in the bronze-age.

Your point is very valid for a modern church in a modern location. However, mine is filled with people who can remember Hitler. They are also mostly from farming families. Ever watch "Little House on the Prairie"? Picture their church, shoved into today's world, with nobody under the age of 40.

Actually, I would bet that none wanted an abortion because their husbands would be "taking care" of them. I bet many of them were saddened by multiple miscarriages from being thrown down the stairs. However, I can't imagine a single one needing/wanting an abortion.
