Crud. I'm going to do this over two posts, so that I can keep things even.
When I posted this thing saying that I was deaf, it was because of my blasted yearly ear infection. I don't always go deaf when I get the infection, but sometimes I do. When I found a competent doctor, he said that I might permanently lose my hearing. So, he sent me to a specialist.
Anyway, the specialist prescribed the medication I requested from the stupid ER doctor I ended up seeing in the very beginning. The infection went away and everything is now hunky-dorey in the canals.
However, he also had me see an audiologist. I am going deaf, slowly but he said I "don't have anything to worry about". I don't think I'd have to worry so much if I went permanently deaf. I mean, I'm already a paraplegic. Whatever adversity I might endure from losing my hearing wouldn't be as difficult as the initial difficulties of the spinal cord surgery. I'm already partially prepared for the "going deaf" bit.
Also, I'd like to point out that when I said, "sometimes life sucks," it was because of the pain, delirium, and general inability to stay awake for long periods of time. Infections are never fun.
