i have goosebumps, and shivers down my spine.

What album is the orchestral Bird On A Wire from? I used to have Songs of Love and Hate on cassette, but it's gone now.

the original was from Songs Of Love and Hate. It's my favourite album of the early stuff I've heard of his.
Bird On A Wire always reminds me of this really scared pretentious art school party I went to once. The people were at a fine arts college, and would only let themselves listen to LC and some other depressing folk lady I'd never heard of. Two of the people were getting married so they could rip off the government by applying for Austudy. Nobody danced, and there were no lights. The friend who invited me later gave up art school and now works for the Commonwealth Bank.

i think leonard cohen pretty much calls for a dark or semi-dark room.
most art school students end up working in banks or the public sector.
