T minus 15 minutes to Paul Weller on the Late Late Show. I find it strange, and fulfilling that my hero/icon of recent years is finally on American TV. Kilborn is an odd choice-I would have though Conan, or maybe Letterman might have been a fan from way back ( Read more... )

Oh, Chicago is awesome! I have a couple of friends that live there. It's wonderful to explore on your own. When I went last spring, the friend I was visiting had class during the day, so I had to show myself around the city a little bit. You can visit the site for the L and it'll give you directions anywhere in the city by the L, which is nice. The L was kind of confusing to me. (It was my first experience with mass transportation.) I was pretty scared about it at first. I rode a train up there by myself, my first big trip by myself, my first train ride, yadda yadda... But it turned out to be a very liberating experience. I proved to myself that I didn't need someone holding my hand in order to enjoy myself. Chicago is an amazing city. You'll fall in love with it. There's really nothing daunting about it. I've never been a very urban person. I hate people and crowds; the whole idea of bustling city life never appealed to me, to say the least. But you really get swept up in the energy of Chicago. There's something different about it. ( ... )

Yeah, but concerts alone are wierd. He'll be back, and maybe we can twist Mitch's arm to go.
At least you do post. That's a rare thing these days.

Yes, I agree. I have a friend in Chicago that goes to shows alone all the time, but I don't think I'd ever be comfortable doing that. At least not big stadium shows, which is what she goes to most of the time.

I'm so good at twisting Mitch's arm! But I rarely have to do so. We agree 99.5% of the time.
