Thanks, interesting to read your views. I will admit I had not researched 7 or 10 and was thinking of voting yes based on "environmental feel good" factor, and I will now take a closer look.
yeah, like many of the measures/props i voted no on, it wasn't that there weren't good things that would come about, it was about what things would not come about. i agree that industry will be a part of it, but in this case, i felt it was a little too industry.
for instance, it is more eco-groovy to run your car into a piece of scrap metal than it is to get a new hybrid. as long as someone is doing that to your former car, then it makes sense. but i think overall, more drivable cars will end up in scrap because of the break.
like measure B, i supported this kind of bill in principle, but i'm willing to wait for a better one.
i can't say i fully understand 7, but the number of opponents to the bill is staggering. the NRDC is very smart. i remember looking at one of their job postings. PH.D plus 5 years of work experience.
