Seven-year old Severus Snape stayed at the playground long after the pretty red-headed girl and her sister left. He sat on one of the swings, pushing himself back and forward using the toes of his scuffed boots. “It’s ok isn’t it?” Snape asked the boy sitting on the swing next his. “Of course it is” the boy replied. “I’ll always be here, Severus. You don’t ever have to be alone”.
From the shop at the edge of playground, Mrs. Smith could see a small boy alone on a swing talking to himself and hugging his coat around his thin shoulders.
