Over the last few weeks I have rewatched the entire series from the mini to the end of season three, including all the deleted scenes and the webisodes, and I just have to rewatch Razor now before the season premiere.
And I am so fucking excited. When I rewatched, I remembered how much I love it all. I love the action and the ambiguity and the

And I love your Lee!Love. I usually watch the show from his POV because he's the moral compass of the whole thing, but you explained it so much better that I'm quoting just so I can read it again --
Even when he's wrong, when he's Leemo, when he's fat, even (sometimes especially) when he's a dick, when he's too terrified to trust Starbuck again and swears to be the man Dee deserves. His mistakes are mistakes I agree with having to make, his choices are choices I trust.
YES.

It's the way he always deals with people who accuse him of being a daddy's boy, of not deserving his position - he acts as if to say, you're right, I'm exactly the spoiled prick you think I am. What the fuck are you gonna do about it?
Because I never really thought about it that way before and yes, you are right, this is Lee, and I love him for it.
I am always on Lee Adama's side
Yes. And I'm actually not normally a person who does that, but when it comes to Lee -- because I get him, and if I were in that world, I would wish I had the courage and moral conviction to BE him (maybe minus the romantic entanglements, ahem). Or, you know, at least have sex with him. ;)
Great post, all the way around.

It's part of the always being on his side thing, too -- I trust his judgment, so even if we come into a scene not knowing why he's being a dick, I'm sure there's a good reason so I can enjoy it without reservation.

Yes, that's it exactly! I don't think I actually COULD be as morally upright as Lee, but I would try.
Actually, sometimes when I am in a moral dilemma I really do ask myself, What Would Apollo Do? It's an excellent standard to follow because I always know the answer will be morally upstanding without being unrealistic, and there would be no failure to kick ass when ass kicking is required.

Well, BSG IS BACK, and I CANNOT BLAME YOU! I am awash in the same joy. I love all the characters so much!
But I also love how often the show lets Adama and Roslin BOTH be wrong. They're good people and powerful leaders, but they both get caught up in their own hype sometimes, and start putting holding onto their power over using that power fairly.
Yes, I agree! And I like that the show has these shades of grey, that it's not just Humans Good, Cylons Bad, Heroes Always Right, Enemies Always Wrong. That's why when anyone starts ranting about how x or y character is completely irredemable or 100% wrong, I think they're missing the point of the show.
I also love when Dee admonishes Commander Adama in Home to get him to suck it up and put what's left of the human family back togetherMy favorite Dee moment of all time! I love the way she says with such quiet dignity: "Maybe you don't think I have anything to say -- but I do." And I'm with you on the Chief as well; I ( ... )

I like your theory about Tyrol being the last Cylon. As much as I love the Cylons, it broke my heart a little when I found out he was one of them.

Thanks for reading and commenting! The only thing better than my show being back is seeing the fandom pop back up all over my flist and journal.
