Just got back from seeing HBP. Ugh, remind me to NEVER go see a movie with my aunt and Adrian again. Jesus. That was possibly the most miserable i've been in a movie theater ever.
Things I did not like:
The whole Harry in the cafe thing. I knew the Dursleys weren't going to be in it, but that was lame.
The Burrow burning. Again, knew it was going to happen, but GAH. Hate.
Luna finding Harry instead of Tonks. WTF. She was IN the movie, so what was the point of the change? I love Luna, and wish we could see more of her, but I just can't like this change.
Changing the H/G kiss. I did like how they did it, and I know they were cutting back on the Quidditch, but still. *pouts*
I knew they were cutting the funeral, but I was still hoping for Ron comforting Hermione. I know, I know. Not important overall, but I missed it.
Cutting the battle at the school. I just...that always felt like such an important part of the book to me. Even with Dumbledore's death, it loses some of the WE'RE REALLY AT WAR feel without it.
Things I loved:
RON. QUIDDITCH. Oh, that was fabulous.
Lavender! Man, Jessie Cave did an amazing job. The whole Ron/Lavender relationship was fairly spot on, I thought.
Harry and Hermione after the R/L kiss. SO SWEET AND SAD. Oh kids.
Harry on Felix Felicis. I was cracking up so hard.
TomF. Dude. He nailed it. That was the first time i've really seen him as Draco. I'm so impressed with him right now.
Er-my-knee. *shipper glee* I actually loved most of the way they handled R/Hr.
The love potion scene. Oh man, that was so perfect. The comedy and the panic after the poisoned mead. *___*
TWINS. I...almost don't want to see DH. I want to remember my twins being so happy and carefree. :(
The cave. I've never been crazy about Gambon as Dumbledore, but that was very very well done. The fire spell gave me chills.
Ginny comforting Harry after Dumbledore dies. Really, aside from Ron not holding Hermione, that whole scene was well done. It was quiet and sad and lovely.
Overall, I liked it a lot. I don't know that it's my favorite, but it ranks up in the top. There's a lot more that should go in both of my lists, but i'd need to see it again to really remember everything.
Bed time now.
