The word gringo originated in the conflict between Mexican and American soldiers in the border between the two countries and comes directly from English 'green go!'

Leaving for Peru at 6am tomorrow morning.

I heard it came from the term for Greek, "griego," as in, it's all Greek to me!

Have an amazing time in PERU!!!!!! I hope you meet a man the first night as sexy as....well a really sexy man, who is part American/Australian/English (in other words speaks english) so you can fall madly in love for two weeks! (And hopefully you're traveling partner does the same so they don't feel left out!) I love you and miss you and can not wait to see you!
