New laptop. Like the new laptop.

Took me about 30 seconds to absolutely loathe Windows Vista. I don't see this attitude changing anytime soon.

ETA: Anyone with info or ideas on downgrading from Vista to XP, pass them on. Looks like this is something I'll be considering.

Scores of users apparently have installed XP, due to the problems with Vista playing well with other applications.

Whenever I try to make an add/drop on my Yahoo Hockey club, my internet connection gets dropped (I tried this 4-5 times).

i need a windows computer for work reasons, but i can't even buy one without damn vista on it. so i'm holding off on it until they cancel vista. meanwhile, i'm dual booting my macbook with windows. (downloaded from a bit torrent site :) - hey, i own a copy, but i can't find it)

I had the same dilemma recently: I needed to buy a new laptop but didn't want Vista. I went onto Tigerdirect.com and found some.

I would "downgrade" to XP. I think it's better.

do you need windows, or will linux do? try ubuntu if applicable. it goes well with wine. you could virtually box with it too. vista is a step toward idiocracy. you could probably buy it at costco.

did you acquire your laptop at one of those
post Thanksgiving sales? My brother and mom
got up at 4 AM day after Thankgiving to wait
in the circuit (circus?) city long line, only
to finally get in the store at 5 AM and be
informed they only had 19 laptops at the 1/2
price offer, AND they needed a voucher.
They left the store pissed off and
didn't buy anything. Kind of funny in a way
how they were talking about the 1/2 price $ 299
laptop over Turkey dinner.
