A lot of our Little League practices have been rained out, and it looks like our first game tomorrow will be too. But we've had enough practices to get to know the kids and I like our team. Triple-A is oddly in-between because you get both advanced 9 year-olds and some not-that-great 12 year olds. That's quite a range. But even a not-great 12 y. ( Read more... )

May I ask what the book is about? I loved Lost in the Grooves and thought it was terrific. I also coincidentally read Kim's book on Neutral Milk Hotel this week and enjoyed it as well.

I'm doing a 33 1/3 book for Continuum Press on Tom Waits' Swordfishtrombones.

Maybe I should've done an LJ announcement to that effect first, huh?

Anyway, I'm very excited about it. It's one of my favorite records and a particularly rich one to spend a lot of time with.

I did a lot of preliminary research when I was working up the pitch, and now I need to shape the whole thing.
