my dad went to the rifle range with my grandfather this morning.
yeah, not really too exciting for my lj readers.
but he gave my dad his old luger, which is a german pistol used in the early 20th century.
the one, on the right in the pic, has all matching serial numbers, including the clip.
its a 1918 issue, and it has the double eagle stamps from the 2nd reich, which was wwI
it was reissued for world war 2, and you can tell by the swaztika stamped on the parts.
i guess its just me loving history, but i think this is so cool.
a pistol that was made at the beginning of the century, went through two world wars, and was given to my grandfather as a gift sometime in the fifties.
it actually was used for a fifty year time period and it all has matching serial numbers, the same as it left the factory in Erfurt Germany in 1918.
i just think thats really cool is all.
