I've decided to start posting my MySpace blogs as LJ entries. You don't have to read them twice if you're on both. :)

I have nothing better to blog about than the books I'm reading, but I'll fill you in on that at the end.

Just finished "Crooked" by Louisa Luna. It was about a girl who just got out of prison. It was definitely an easy read

about people who think they're fat or ashamed in other ways thinking that they do not deserve to hang out with cool people or do cool things - I think you are totally right in thinking that. I can see how after getting out of prison, you may be ashamed of yourself and go right back doing shameful things. Or an overweight person not letting themselves do nice things becuase they feel they aren't worth it. Sometimes I think people get into that mode for no big reason at all, maybe other than a parent might have constantly told them as a chlid that they weren't very good and didn't deserve a lot of things.

and parents telling kids they are no good can get people into situations where they become insanely overweight or involved in behaviors that get them into trouble. i'm not into people using what their parents did or said as an excuse for the way they behave, rise above that shit people, but i do think that if a person doesn't have the capacity to rise above, they can really get themselves in a mess as a result of poor parenting. i sort of rambled this one out, sorry.
