bruised, beatten, and battered

Sounds like some sort of recipe for fried food. Anyways, I just got back from my test and I don't have any energy left in my body. It has all been ripped out thrown around and then sent on to a better place. I have not been this tired in years. Just to give people a perspective that are not Dojo(BMAI) oriented I got to the dojo at 10:00 this ( Read more... )

You know you do well in a test when you simply have no more to give when it's all over. Well done!

*hugs*

Kudos to you! iamnight March 14 2004, 16:15:11 UTC
Different manifestation, same feeling! The satisfaction of finishing is only made greater when the end stretch hurts so much, you know? I kept trying to explain this to people after the marathon, when they'd say things like, "Well, it sounds like it was good in spite of that hellish time." "No, NO, the hellish part is what makes it so good!" As they said in one episode of Buffy, which you know I had to bring in, "That's when you find out who you are." I already knew you kicked ass, but once in a while it's nice to really see for yourself whatcha got. And in a couple days you'll be able to savor that knowledge with none of the pain. Which, again, kudos to you! <3

Your powerkicking was impressive! forkingpaths March 17 2004, 15:08:04 UTC
Man, I was trying to give as much to my kicks as I saw you were giving, but if you hadn't have been encouraging me, i don't think I would have been able to do it. Especially for the last back kick. For some reason I was really convinced I couldn't do it, that I didn't have anything left... Hmmm. I just remembered that I did do some power kicking in brown belt section. I totally forgot about the roundhouses I had to do. Apparently I *still* hold my hip back, which causes me to under pivot. Whenever Sensei told me anything about what I should do to improve the kick, I would look at him stupidly, before he'd point to the particular offending body part that was guilty of hampering my technique (I found out that the way I hold my shoulders for punching is, well, wrong). Now that it's over I can laugh! You were awesome! It was fun to work out with you, and honestly you had a whole bunch of "osu" that I could only hope to have!
