Hi all!
A couple of nights ago, I took my hedgie Luda out and noticed his ears were looking a little dry. My boyfriend helped put some Aquaphor on and that was that. I had one who made a big nest of hay and put it next to his food and water bottle so he would never have to come out and actually be seen by me. His nose and mouth would pop out for eating and drinking.
Is Luda eating and drinking and using his litter box? If so, he is probably OK. You might want to pick him up and just hold him on your lap for a bit to reassure him that all is well. He might not have liked the Aquafor.
Dry ears like that, if flaky, might be a sign of mites. So you may want to take him to the vet to be checked for that.
Don't worry too much, though! I think he'll be fine.
